Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"Where do you even live?" Shadow Stephanie asks.

"I'm working on that," I say, signing the letter, "The branch in the Shadow Palace is for big stuff though, you know that right? There are smaller branches throughout the city and kingdom who work on the rest of the cases."

 

“Not really anywhere. It boils down more to where I hang around the most, which I guess would be the Void at the moment.”

 

"Why do all the cases that get that high always are against the citizens?"

 

"You could stay at the Shadow Palace if you wanted. You don't have to be a homeless robot." Shadow Stephanie offers.

"What do you mean?" I ask.

 

"I sent eight families to prison because some dumb corporation didn't want to shell out five gold for medical compensation!" Alice growls.

 

“Thanks for the offer, but I don’t mind being a homeless robot. I don’t sleep, and everything I own fits in my pockets or on my belt.”

 

"Are you sure you were working for the Shadow Palace Detective Agency?" I ask, confused, "That doesn't sound like usual business. We don't handle cases like that."

"Well, as long as you don't get shit thrown at you then alright." Shadow Stephanie says, shrugging.

 

I shrug, then see something a moment later and pause.
“It’s right here. Come on.”
I start jogging forward now.

 

"I stole it from my superior's desk."

 

Shadow Stephanie easily manages to stay next to you, her footsteps silent.

"Do you still have it?" I ask.

 

"Got it. Just tell me when you're done."
He gets out of the hole and looks around.

 

We soon some across a wooden door built into the side of a large hill. I try the knob, and it’s locked.
“Break it down or take the other way in?”

 

"Yeah, I stole the case file to delay the arrest." Alice says, pulling it from a drawer.

Still nothing visible, but snow is starting to fall.

 

Shadow Stephanie looks for any cracks or holes in the door.

I hold my hand out to take the case file.

 

The side closest to the knob would be easy to squeeze through, assuming one could shapeshift.

 

Shadow Stephanie melts into a sort of dark ethereal form, blending in quite well with the darkness around her as she slides through the knob's side, forming on the other side.

 

"Hey, dragon... some snow is coming down." He says, a bit worried.

 

She gives it to you, many photographs and other bits of evidence still attached.
"I tried to steal everything and saved them... Yxun claimed they were guilty anyways." Alice growls. "If my boss is doing shit like this, I want them dead or fired, and if she's set up, then I want to bust them."

"That's... really bad for going back."

 

"Who's set up?" I ask, looking through the case file.

 

"I don't know, yet. Yxun signed off on the integrity of everything... said they set up an injury for an extra day off. That's not true - the building wasn't maintained for three years past it's due maintainance."
