A little annoyed, he sits down on the ground.

 

The flame is warm, but it's clear that the melting snow might not hold for much longer if you don't get the dragon to move.

 

"Oh yeah, be careful not to melt the snow and create an avalanche."

 

I raise an eyebrow.

 

I stop moving and try to listen.

 

"Right, I'll get this thing moving once its face thaws."

"...something went wrong out there?"
"Nothing's showing in the control room."
"I'll send sec to go check it out."
"Right."

"One half listens, the other half records."

 

There’s not much, really. Just trees.
“This way.”
I say, then march off in a direction.

 

"Interesting." I say, sipping my tea thoughtfully.

Shadow Stephanie's right behind you.

 

"Mostly I'm running up there because there's a paper I wanted to give you."

 

Bardock nods and looks around if there are any hostile creatures around.

 

"Oh?" I ask.

 

He can't see anything else from the hole.

"Just a request to ensure I don't get called back to the palace."

 

I wait for Alice's other half to return, sipping my tea.

 

She returns with a sealed letter.
"Hoping you'd sign it so I don't get any more people knocking at my door with people wanting me back for a case. I'm sick of the way things were run there."

 

“It shouldn’t be too far this way, now.”
I say as I walk.

 

"I know." I say, rolling my eyes.

I open the letter, reading it.

"Nice night to be out." Shadow Stephanie says, looking up at the night sky.

 

I thought I left the hole.
He gets out of the hole. "Want me to stand guard?"

 

“Yeah. The nights in the Void aren’t exactly pretty and, as far as I know, nonexistent.”

 

It's just a formal letter requesting a royal signature to stop the agency from reaching out to Alice until she lifts her request.

"They never help the people who need help. Why don't you do anything about it?"
