Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

I stay quiet.

 

She starts descending towards Alice's house, Alice herself messing around with a leaf that she's not letting fall to the ground.

 

Ruby feels a little less powerful as I try to hide my presence.

 

Alice glances over.
"Hey, Ruby. Who'd you bring?"
"How di-"
"You're a shell, and there's someone inside."

 

“That works nicely.”
I pick up the pace to follow her.

 

I remain silent, slightly intimidated.

"She warned me about the null zones too. How many of them are there?" Shadow Stephanie asks.

 

“I’ve seen one. I threw a coin into one, and to say the least, they live up to their name.”

 

"Sounds wonderful." Shadow Stephanie says sarcastically, shivering slightly as she enters the elevator.

 

"Let me guess... a shadow?" Alice smirks.
"Um..."
"Okay... let's see, which shadows do you know by name? There's... oh, only two? You're afraid of Shadow Stephanie, so I'm going to go with..."
"...Can you not? I just wanted to visit."
"Were you scared of getting clipped on your way here, so then you called Aj?"
Ruby stays silent, a bit annoyed.
"Oh, come on. I'm sorry for giving you a hard time. You two want some tea?"

 

"You're scared of Shadow Stephanie?" I ask.

 

I don’t seem to have a comment, continuing to follow.

 

"Y-yeah..." Ruby thinks.
"Aj, you coming out for tea?"

 

Shadow Stephanie turns the dials in the elevator, teleporting you and herself to the portal room.

"So how have things been with you, apart from the royal murder?" Shadow Stephanie asks out of the blue.

"Why?" I ask.

"Yeah, I will do." I say through Ruby.

 

"She threatened Ihra? If she gets that worked up again, I'm screwed!"

Ruby seems a bit startled, looking down at her snout.
Alice heads inside, leaving the door open.

 

"She was stressed out, and she didn't mean it. Even if she had you set up to be executed while worked up, I doubt she wouldn't reverse it immediately when she calmed down." I say.

 

“I’ve been relaxing, and helping Crystal out. He’s been learning how to handle a spear, and some new magic abilities.”

 

"Oh yeah, how has he been? I feel like I haven't seen him in a long while." Shadow Stephanie asks, typing commands into the portal's terminal.

 

"Yeah, but it took her a while to calm down. Also, you have the whole fiasco that Miorah relayed everything that happened straight to Gaia, so now only you're trusted over there, and it's just... she managed to get banished by Gaia, which is sort of impressive because she's had people wipe out her planets before and pretty much just scolded them."

 

"What? Really?" I ask, shocked.

 

“He’s doing well. Him and Voidfiller have been bonding more, which I think is nice.”
