Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"We'll need to go through the Void Palace." Shadow Stephanie says, walking across the throne room to the doors, their size being appropriately proportioned for her own. The ground shakes a little as she walks past, though she deliberately avoids stepping on you.

"Actually...you might not want to do that. Tenebrae found out she had a child with Lux that Xlentia erased, and...it sort of made Lux and her try to kill Xlentia in revenge," I explain, "I don't want you accidentally reminding Tenebrae of that if you're in her realm."

 

I swiftly trail her.
“The library’s currently in a sort of null zone. Unless the portal still up from how I entered, there’ll be a complication.”

 

"That complicates things." Shadow Stephanie says.

Due to how large Shadow Stephanie is, it's extremely hard to keep up with her, until she changes to her smaller form once she reaches the dining hall.

 

I pick up to a running pace if I need to, walking once I catch up.
“Indeed. Once again, the portal I entered from might still be up. Or you could contact Emerald to make another.”

 

"They had a child...?"

 

"I'll try the latter." Shadow Stephanie says, heading into the dining hall and walking over to the nearest waiter.

"Oh, hello your highness." The waiter says, bowing.

"Could I get some supplies for a short journey? Nothing specific, just some food and water to keep me going while I'm away." Shadow Stephanie asks.

"Of course, your majesty." The waiter says, hurrying off.

"Yeah. I feel like a have a few fragmented memories of them, but...I don't know." I say.

 

“Telepathy isn’t my strong suit.”
I stick near her.
“You’ll have to take care of that one.”

 

"I was planning to, don't worry." Shadow Stephanie says.

 

"Erasure is probably less effective on beings from other realities." Ruby shrugs.

 

"I guess it's based on connection. Still, I don't want anything bad to happen if you remind Tenebrae she lost her only child and can't even remember them." I say.

 

"I'll keep that in mind."

 

"What is the Way Up? Sounds very interesting."

 

"It is what we call it, a steady whirlwind that connects us and the outside."

 

"You're hungry." He laughs and sits down, waiting for the dragon.

 

"So...how's the job?" I ask.

 

"The underground still follows the breeze? We were always told that everyone down below had rejected the winds and refused to embrace them."

 

I nod, staying still.

 

The waiter eventually returns with a pouch of food, a couple of glass water bottles tied to it.

"Thanks." Shadow Stephanie says, accepting the pouch, before turning around and heading out of the dining hall.

 

I trail her, silent.

 

Shadow Stephanie heads to one of the nearby elevators, checking the book for the right code before turning the dials.
