Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"Better than starving..." He mumbles between bites.

"Yeah... wait, did she somehow become a shadow?"

 

"Yup, Tenebrae gave her new life, and she was reborn a Shadow." I say.

 

"Well... I guess that's one way to get around a lifelong curse." Ruby sighs, seeming disappointed.

 

“So she could be anywhere, huh...”
I start thinking.

 

"Is something wrong?" I ask.

"I'd expect in this reality, unless she was captured." Shadow Stephanie says.

 

"I was hoping to meet her in flesh and blood. Meeting her at all will do, though."

 

"I mean, she sort of is in flesh and blood. She's the same sister you always had, she just looks different." I say.

 

I nod, silently, continuing to think.

 

Shadow Stephanie gives you silence to think.

 

"I know, but... you know what I mean. Like, pretty much all of us got mutilated in some way other than Emerald, and I was sort of hoping to see one of them like the way they used to be."

 

"Oh, I see. I'm...sorry about that." I apologise.

 

“...How do you set up new places for your portal room to go?”
I ask, seemingly randomly.

 

"True. Most certainly true."
He cleans his teeth, using his nails to get some bits out.

 

"You just need to type in the co-ordinates and realm to look in. It sort of sends out a signal to the location you input and tries to open a portal there. You can then assign certain locations to names for easier access." Shadow Stephanie explains.

 

"It's okay. I sort of envy you, actually... not having family to worry about must be nice."

It's pretty easy to pick the last tiny bits out of your fangs.

The dragon keeps gnawing on the bone.

 

"I have a family, and I consider my friends a part of my non-biological family. I'm pretty sure my mother is proud of me becoming king of the realm." I say.

 

"Isn't your family just Tenebrae?"

 

“That’s probably not ideal, then...”
I say almost under my breath, then look back towards her to explain.
“The Matriarch was wondering about where I was built, and was intrigued to see and paint it. I agreed to clear out the place of anything dangerous, and thought I may as well somehow get a portal going there for her. I’d convince Voidfiller to do it, but he’s undoubtly still peeved.”

 

"Well, Tenebrae is considered our mother in the sense that our existence can be traced back to her, so she's the mother of all Shadows. However, she didn't birth me. I have a biological mother, father, brother and two sisters." I say.

 

"Do you ever visit them? I only ever hear of you being off somewhere or here in the palace."
