Grammar ( For My Sanity)

Just a quick PSA:

It helps to use good grammar on the forums when making posts.

1) First of all, grammar is a part of the English language for a reason. Correct capitalization and punctuation actually makes a block of text easier and much less annoying to read.

making your forums post look like this doesnt help and people will most likely skip over a block of just pure text with no punctuation whatsoever because its a pain to read because reaching over and pressing the shift key a few times is just too much effort to put into your quality forum post


2) Don’t use text talk/shorthand. Just because you’re on the computer doesn’t mean you should use it.

Ur making ur posts look lik this bcuz u dont want to press extr butons on ur keyboard lol.

This just makes you look less mature and it’s annoying to read.

I thought English was one of the hardest languages to learn because of all the grammar rules, no?

 

Learning a language is no easy task, but in general, English is considered relatively easy to learn.

 

Their is a serious problem with people thinking they're grammar is flawless. There are a problem.

 

Really? I was taught that it was one of the hardest languages to learn, due to the irregularity of so many verbs and spellings. Like even though Russian uses a different set of characters, the grammar structure is quite regular.

 

Have you ever heard of an annoying system in carriable touchscreen devices that some people do not know how to disable, causing many grammar issues such as the one described above, called autocorrect?

 

Well I don’t have experience with Russian, but compared to French/Spanish, where there are multiple verb conjugations with multiple tenses as well as gender, I feel like English is easier, even with the irregular grammar.

Also, as a fluent Chinese speaker, I can guarantee that English is easier.

 

Lol I was comparing English to Spanish/French because they're the most common second language classes, but I mean, I hear Polish and Mandarin are the hardest languages to learn. (also am jelly that you're fluent in Chinese) And trying to learn a language with a completely different set of characters is hard for me xd

No language is easy to learn. There is no direct translation of any one language to another because words are conjugated differently based on factors that vary from culture to culture and dialect to dialect. Everything from english to mandarin to sign language is not straightforward. Personally I only know english and very limited spanish (my gramar sucks and I can't even write a sentence without a dictionary and list of conjugations). From experience I know that learning another language is really difficult. The ability to learn one should not dictate whether anyone is allowed to play wynncraft or use the forums thought. Simple words and jargon should TOTALLY be allowed though @Derpy_Watermelon . The fact that you think using shorthand is somehow detracting from a thread is just stupid (yes I see that you are being facetious but I still gonna respond like this). Using shorthand words like "disco" for discoverer, "CSST" for corrupted sand swept tomb, "lol" for laughing, and

shouldn't detract from the post. The whole point is the reader interprets the meaning of the text, and is not just blankly reading the text without any analysis (that is the opposite of what I'm doing right now ). I knew that you were, to some extent, shitposting, but I felt like giving a thoughtful response anyways.
