For now I’m gonna treat it as the normal magic item crafting rules, found on pages 128-129 of the DMG, with a few changes:

Gold prices and time requirements are cut in half.

Each day of progress requires 1 soul to be used. This is commonly don’t be capturing a ghost or specter or something, and using it in the item creation. Simply killing a creature nearby will not work, the soul must be drawn out. Other spells may work in helping with this.

Additionally, items made using the directions from this book can not recharge their charges naturally, if they have charges. Instead, one soul must be expended per charge regained, using the same rules as before.

 

Yeah, this one is full. Aarakocra has a backup (granted he's not the most... Forgiving DM).

I loosen the ropes, but keep them on. I use 2 ki points to cast Pass Without Trace, whispering the words for it under my breath.

As far as I know, PWT wouldn't give you any benefit against creatures who are already aware of your presence. It would help you hide from people searching for you, but not somehow hide in plain sight.

 

Certain spells and abilities can draw out a target”’s soul. Off the top of my head, Soul Cage (level 6 spell) has such an effect, but there’s lower level spells that also work. Similarly, any spell that raises dead might work, with a % chance of error. Resurrection spells also work, but instead of resurrecting, the soul is used.

It’s up to you to experiment, the boom is rather vague on the subject, and I would like to see you experiment with it
