Archer/Hunter Help High Damage Archer

Please help me for my archer build xD
So, I just want high damage for this archer build, around 10k health, and decent elemental defense, preferably no negatives,

Class: Archer
Level: Any (level 101)
Budget: No mythics, 2 maximum hive vouchers
Play-style: High damage, ok elemental defense (positive preferably)

You need 1 hive master item and 4 LI items. Water Sanctuary is from Corrupted Lost Sanctuary.

don't hate on people asking around. They could have 4 mythics, stacks of LE, and 10 master hive vouchers, but still be asking for builds. Pre-existing conditions shouldn't determine who gets a build made for them or not. They clearly knew that the times were changing after coming back.

I think it is prefectly acceptable EDIT: and quite frankly the best way to play is by asking for opinions before jumping to conclusions. (see for an example of jumping to conclusions in build making Tek)

 

im jsut saying, one would think they would have enough experience to make a build for themselves after having played for so long
as long as your not so lazy as to not be able to do a couple of searches on wynndata

 

dooood what about being gone for so long is hard to understand. No one sets down a game for a few months then comes back and plays like a pro. Takes time and practice, just looking at wynndata will help, but only to an extent.

 

all thats changed in the past few months (or pretty much since the gameplay update came out) is some rebalancing
all the mechanics in are pretty much the same as they were then. its not hard to at least have an idea in mind, try to put it together and ask for feedback instead of just straight up "give me a build"

 

Yes, u understand me. Just by being rich and having mythics doesnt mean u dont need build help, but how did i jump to conclusions?

Oh and btw, the one mistake that most ppl make when playing archer is damage. Archer is already glassy enough, focusing on dmg will only make u more like paper. Make a tank build like what i did (ik most ppl say that tank archer would never work) it deals formidable dmg and retains the range advantage so even if u do get hit, u will most likely tank thru it. Just dont try to go even glassier with archer as u eill get raped by bosses

 

you really really really don't listen AND just proved my point. Archer is never going to tank. Making a tank archer gets you a glass tank:
Just getting a shitload of neutral and elemental defenses will not solve the problem archers have and will not make you all that much tankier. Archers are meant to use agility for dodge and ws + intelligence for water damage and high bomb damage. That means they can spam spells to completely avoid the damage, rather than taking any in the first place. This has been explained to you multiple times and you still won't listen or look around at the builds people are showing you. Every build should at least have positive elemental defenses, yes, but archers are not meant to be tanks or use a ton of defense. It just doesn't work the way you think, period.

You said it yourself. the problem is you don't seem to understand the role that an archer plays. It is not intended to be the frontline tank. It is INTENTIONALLY glassy. Archers are intended to have 130% damage at their level. Assassins have 100%, mages have less (I forget), and warriors have the least (again I forgot lololol). The trade off is, as you drop in damage from class to class, you increase in durability. Archers have the least to warriors having the most. This is why you jumped to conclusions. Rather than researching or asking for the answers, you decided what you 'thought' made sense, then was wrong. Now you think you're making builds like a pro, when these builds are almost worthless.

 

I've said it before, and as @NicBOMB said, tank archer is like taking the worst of both worlds. You're building a tank on a class that's the squishiest, yet no damage on the class that supposedly deals the most damage.

It's like you're taking a sword and trying to block with it as a shield.... It's not gonna shield you very well, and it's not gonna do its damage when you use it as a shield.

I've seen multiple threads from you about the exact same thing, and you've gotten almost the exact same responses every time.

If you really want a tanky build that can solo bosses, just do a tank mage/warrior or something, it works a lot better than tank archer.

 

The term @Derpy_Watermelon is looking for to summarize this phenomenon is known as "min-maxing". Minimizing flaws, maximizing skills. Archers are primarily damage dealers and spell spammers, like mages but made out of glass instead of magic. Maximizing damage IS what archers are supposed to do. Minimizing damage taken through agility is the best way for an archer to survive. Defense just doesn't improve an archer's defenses enough to be comparable to any of the other classes. That is, however, intentional. You aren't supposed to play archers with getting hit in mind. Avoiding hits is the whole point. Use that range and mobility rather than slowing yourself down and trying to prepare for the avoidable hits.

there are new metas, new items, i only know really only old good builds that are completely nerfed to the ground, unusable and terrible
