The One Problem I Have With Wynncraft

Before I start yes.. This is a complain, but no I don't hate Wynncraft. Wynncraft is by far the coolest server I have ever played. There is just one thing that REALLY gets me aggravated and actually the reason I left for awhile the first time it happened and something NEEDS to be done about this because this is the second time this has happened to me. It's being able to throw your friggin horse into a damned hopper. The first time it happened was like a year ago and it inspired me to make a post with the title "What's the stupidest thing you've done?" which seemed to catch peoples attention. The reason I was so angry about it is because I accidentally through my max level chestnut horse into a hopper in the house of twain I believe it was. I keep my horse in my hot bar for immediate access in case I need to quickly get out of somewhere or just so I have it easily accessible. However when I have to throw something in a hopper really quick during a quest and I'm being attacked I'm kind of rushed and when I threw my max level chestnut into that hopper I about broke my computer. I just did it again however it wasn't a chestnut it was just a max leveled black horse. Either way I lost my horse; after going to the merchant to buy horses I had enough money to buy only 4. I was thinking I'd at least get a black horse considering I can breed 3 times. Just my luck and I leave with a lvl 1 brown horse... Wynncraft..... Please fix something. Maybe with things like horses when you click q or whatever your drop shortcut may be a message will appear in chat asking if you're sure you want to drop it..

 

This problem is not unique to you. A LOT of people have made threads about this same issue. The Wynn CT can't program their server to cause a popup every single time you press your drop key. That would cause so many problems and be more trouble than its worth. The only way to try and prevent this from happening is to change your drop key to something else, and just be more cautious. And there's no need to 'almost break your computer' remember, it's just a game, don't let it get the best of you.

Come to think of it this could actually be done

Did you ever hear of Patp's gta servers theres tier 5 weapons on that server and once you get 1 you cant throw it out by pressing q no matter how hard you try
And to get rid of them you need to either auction them / trade them / drag them out of your inventory

I'm fairly certain this could be done for wynncraft

 

I'm no master in coding, so I'm not 100% sure, but the concept does seem tedious to implement and may not be effective.

 

That or simply add a lock command
By the meantime, just use wynn enhanced or something to have a lock system

 

I just disabled my drop button, now I have to throw stuff out through my inventory.

 

I would do that but then I’d go insane because of how annoying it is to do that and not press Q. Although I would also go insane if I lost an important item because I pressed Q on accident or something like that. I’m sad lol.

Another solution would be to install the Wynn Expansion mod if your computer is ok with that. Check the your work section; the mod has an item lock feature.

 

Some people (like me) don't really like to play with mods installed, or their computer can't handle too many mods. IMO, making item locks a real feature in wynn would be better for everyone.

Im proposing an ALTERNATE solution.
I'm not saying its necessary, I'm just giving them another option.

 

I am liking your comment because of Future Diary. Yuno is the most badass anime character I know (aside from Lelouch Vi Brittania in Code Geass).

 

You can put your dropkey to for example Esc/Shit/Tab + Q or some other button around the Q area on the keyboard. You will be able to throw out whenever you want and won't accidentally throw it out.

 

I remember someone suggestin an item lock idea a few years back. It was one of the most supported ideas I’ve seen. Surprised it wasn’t added all this time.

 

Aren't droppers normally used for junk items?

Anyway, this shouldn't really be in Wynncraft, feedback would be more appropriate and you could literally just search 'dropper' in the search bar and get like 20 threads about it

 

It’s ok, I dropped my weapon once into a hopper while doing a dungeon... the boss battle um... was...

 

I use the 'Y' key to drop items. it's not too much of a hassle and it's rare I misclick it

 

Whenever this kind of threads pop up I get semi-excited to read them. "FINALLY someone has the same problems with the game as I do." is what I think to myself.
And then I start reading it.
And then I lose all hopes in humanity (metaphorically, obviously).
Out of all the issues the server has, from lag to bad grinding, poor pvp, no end game content, you chose to pick the one "issue" you have control over, in every second, in every aspect. Out of all the issues on which users have little to no influence, you chose that one and labeled is as your "ragequit" reason.

Dropping your items in hoppers is your fault, don't blame Wynn for that. You could have changed your drop key or disabled it completely, but you didn't, not even after your lost your chestnut.

Assuming someone was planing to do something about it, I seriously hope it's either
A) easy to do
B) not-so-easy to do, but everything else has been taken care of, so they have nothing else to do
In other scenarios, it's just wasting said person's time and I'd rather have them focus on actual game issues.

I agree mistakes happen. I agree it's not pleasant to lose items and you can't be on full concentration every day, but things like this can be avoided.
Do you know what's the best medicine for breaking a leg? Not breaking it in the 1st place. Same goes for dropped items. Just, don't drop them. I have joined in 2014 and I lost a total of 0 items. Gotta be careful with your valuables, sorry.

they can't detect every time someone drops an item, that would be time consuming and laggy. Change ur drop key if your having a problem with it
