Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

Crystal gets more excited, still watching the arena.

 

"You mean like, red glowing eyes? Or just eyes that are red?" I ask.


Maria taps the mic to check if it's working.

 

A bubble goes up around the crowd, probably a shield as Feiha finishes being formed, three red sparks orbiting her wrist as she looks around a bit.
The whole stadium feels a bit colder once Xephyr finishes being formed, a staff quickly growing frost as well as the ground around her as she also seems a bit confused.

"Red glowing eyes."


A screech echoes through the crowd (and the commentator's box), many cheers turning to shouts of disdain.

 

Crystal doesn't make any noise, hollowing a part of him out to make a small fire, which he makes.

 

"Uh, I think so. Some dragons, dark faeries, uh, people or animals possessed by Shadows." I say.

Ruby feels a gust of cold air between her feet.


Maria and Jennifer share a worried, nervous look.

 

She ascends, nervous.


"Just mic testing, our apologies." The guard says through the mics.
The shouts die down.

"...Well, you two gonna count off the fight, or are you going to let me handle this first bout?"
Feiha and Xephyr look at the commentating box from the arena.

A screech rips through the stadium, everyone booing before a guard claims it's just a mic test.

 

Ruby feels something grab her leg as she starts to ascend, trying to bring her down.


"U-Uh, what should we say?" Maria asks.

"Do we say our usual fight stuff? Or is your system different?" Jennifer asks.

 

Crystal continues not saying anything, staring at the combatants.

 

"I don't understand why any of you haven't left this place yet. This place is terrible."

 

"P-please come!" Ruby utters, letting a jolt of energy arc from one claw on her feet to another before she tries to warp out of the thing's grasp.


"Act like it's like your old arena. Just... flashier."
The two combatants start staring at the two succubi.
"...And don't forget to count off."

"Well, it's sort of simple. We stay because we can't leave. If we do, everyone thinks we're coming down to feed on them and kills us."

They turn to the commentators, who seem unfamiliar with the system.

 

He turns to the commentators as well.

 

"Well, control yourself then. But it's isn't that easy, is it?"

 

The thing lets go.

"Where are you?" I ask.


Jennifer and Maria look at each other briefly.

"Hello, ladies, gentlemen and creatures of all types! This is Jennifer." Jennifer announces.

"And this is Maria!" Maria adds.

"Today we've got a very special fight between none other than Xephyr and Feiha!" Jennifer announces.

"What weapons have they got, Jen?" Maria asks.

"Well Maria, Xephyr has the ability to use ice that's so cold, it can freeze time itself!" Jennifer explains.

"Wow, that ought to give her the edge in battle. Let's hope she doesn't give the audience the cold shoulder though!" Maria says.

"She better watch out for Feiha though, with a special trio of orbs that can trap, and kill, her enemies." Jennifer explains.

"Will she be quick enough to take down Xephyr, or will Xephyr give her the icy touch of death?" Maria asks.

"Well Maria, you know there's only one way to find out!" Jennifer says.

"Three!"
"Two!"
"One!"
"Fight!" "Fight!" The succubi count down, saying 'fight'' in unison.

 

"Geneson has always been pushing our borders. I wish at some point we may find peace between the two."

 

They seem to be figuring out this new setup, but after a while, they start the countdown.

"Near the smithy you sent me to on Earth." Ruby says, looking down.


Xephyr lets out a volley of frozen thorns at Feiha, who weaves her sparks (that turn to orbs) between them, throwing a few back with a net that forms when the orbs.

"Well, you won't have to worry about it once they completely move down here."

 

There doesn't appear to be anything below Ruby, though the area looks a little darker than before.

"Alright, I'll be there in a moment." I say.


"It looks like Xephyr's going to have to be a little quicker than that if she wants to hit Feiha!" Maria comments.

"Or maybe she needs to slow things down a bit, Maria." Jennifer comments.

 

I'll investigate.

 

Ruby lets some raw energy ball up in her claw, still looking around her between looking at the darker spot.

You wind up dropping down about two stories into what seems like a water intake for some kind of generator or something.

 

A few moments later, Ruby feels a dark presence approaching her.

 

Ruby tries to back away from it, a bit annoyed.
