Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

There doesn't seem to be one to the gardens, though the entrance of the palace is probably good enough to access them.

 

“Not around me, not usually. But with a history of torture, murders, and tyrannical ruling, what can one expect?”

 

She takes the elevator to the entrance, then heading to the gardens.

"I suppose that'd get to you."

 

"At this point, I'm used to working with the not-the-best-folk."

 

The gardens smell cold, a chill breeze whisking the smells of wintry plants into Ali's nose.

A few forest guardians are working in the gardens, but not as many as usual. Seasonal plants sprout from the frosty ground, colours of white, blue and red. The trees in the gardens seem mostly bare, sticks and rotted cones and seeds laying around them. A few clouds appear to be beginning to roll over the palace, their dark appearance bringing signs of rain or sleet.

 

"There really isn't a good place to settle down, is there?"

Ali heads to one of the forest guardians.
"Excuse me, have you seen a water faerie named Rin?"

 

"Not really. Not at all."

 

"I have, actually. I saw her heading to the floral part of the gardens." The forest guardian says, pointing Ali in the direction Rin went.

 

"Thanks." Ali says, heading in the direction the guardian pointed.

"Well, I doubt my chances could get much worse than they are. May as well have a bit of fun with however long I've got left, eh?"

 

"Fine."
He stops.
"Then what do we do?"

 

"Couldn't have said it better."

 

I dunno, you're the brains in this duo.

You can hear something shuffle about, then a piece of ice nearby starts to crack.

...You didn't trigger an avalanche, did you?

He smiles.
"Well, here's to new beginnings, for everyone. Except you, I guess. New king for some, new life for me." He says, picking up his belongings.

 

"I didn't, we barely even talked."
He looks cracked ice.
"We might have to go down, fast."

 

I'm a voice in your head, I don't even know why you're talking out loud.

A whisker pokes out, then a white dragon head.
"Don't slip." They comment, crawing out of the hole in the ice they made.

 

"Oh. It's you."
He looks at the dragon.
"Do you know a better way to get down?"

 

Ali soon sees a familiar blue faerie, though she appears to be trapped in the hands of a familiar curious cat girl.

 

"Certainly." Terrae closes his pocket watch and keeps it.
"If you shall excuse me I must attend to the aforementioned late gift. Farewell for now." Terrae says, closing the portal and then teleporting back to his throne room.

 

I will go back to sleep.

 

"Oh, there are a lot of people that are already head-first deep in this 'new' stuff."

 

"Sort of? There isn't really a good way down. I could get you down under the ice if you want, though."

Next thing you know, the transition is waking you up.
Once again time for spirits to come out to play... you can't teleport like this, though you don't get cold.

"The guards?"

Ren looks around for a way out of the room, a bit confused.

Ali rushes over.
"Rin!" She calls, worried.
