Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"You're bringing them back? Ihra, you don't know how close these guys were with the person trying to be more genocidal than us," I say flatly, "And if you don't move soon, I'm leaving without you."


Daniel just waits.

 

"I don't know now, but I will." She says, turning around and walking back into the mansion.


Ihra's sudden silence is a bit offputting.

 

"What the hell are you doing!?" I ask.

The mansion rumbles a bit as Ihra feels her magic being enhanced even more.

 

"Doing things my way!" She shouts back, swatting the door the rest of the way down as she goes in.

 

Ihra hears the wolf run off as the mansion rumbles even more. She probably doesn't have much time...

 

“Yes. I understand. Now, what you need to understand, is that it happened, and unless you can time travel, you can’t change that.”

 

Ihra raises a claw, and her crystals flash. Anyone alive in the rooms she left crystals are teleported to the bunk room of the Void Palace, Daniel included.

Ihra glances at him.
"I was told you know a bit more than you're letting on?"

"So, unless we can time travel, which we can't..."
"We're fired."

 

"H-Huh?" Daniel asks.

 

Ihra shakes her head.
"Never mind. You need rest. Come on, ignore the everything else and follow me." She says, levitating those unconscious as she heads towards a towering stack of bunk beds.

 

"Where am I?" Daniel asks, worried.

 

“Could be worse.”

 

"Somewhere safe, just don't... look at everyone else here."

 

"Quite a battle it seems. Must be those dragons who did this."
He keeps his guard up while moving forward.

 

Daniel looks rather scared.

 

"Could've been killed too."
"True, I guess... but what the hell're we supposed to do now?"

You hear a pained howl and something snap as a now beheaded dragon tumbles down a nearby mountain, painting it red as it goes.
Moments later, a roar as the third dragon rips one of the victor's wings off.

"Please just come to a bunk and get some sleep." Ihra sighs, distorting the view of everything else around Daniel.

 

Daniel just gets into a bunk, trying to sleep.

 

As he tosses and turns, he sees many different creatures, many he could've thought as just fantasy beings; dragons, draconians, anubis, harpy, succubi, chimera, fae, dryad, centaur... the list goes on.

 

Daniel just buries his face in his pillow, hoping to wake up from his nightmare.

 

“It’s night, so go home, sleep, and deal with it in the morning.”

 

When he wakes up, it seems it's no nightmare.

A gorgon is nearby, nervously putting their belongings in a nearby bunk, and a lamia slithers up one of the posts of Daniel's bunk.

They glance at each other.
"...Alright."
"I doubt I can sleep. Maybe another tranq dart... The hell are the chemists these days, anyways?"
