What’re they wearing?

 

Armor and uniform, both have lances, and both just about immediately rub their necks as if they're sore... probably because they are.

 

"Okay.. Well, I'm going into the forest and look for the others. I would appreciate it if neither you nor your husband followed me."

 

"He's out hunting, and I'm not leaving this cave unless one of my children got out."

 

"You haven't seen much of this mansion," I say, "Anyway, what matters is the guy is dead and I've got someone to save, I think she was a part of his plans."

The servant just looks terrified.

 

"Do you need any help?"

 

"Just make sure nobody else comes here or calls for external help." I say, turning to head further into the mansion.

 

"Okay." Ihra says, glancing at the front door, then the servant.
"Good news, you have a dragon guarding you. Bad news, I don't know what I'm supposed to do after that. So, uh... what's your name?"

 

"D-Daniel." The servant says.

 

“Morning.”
I joke, standing tall.

 

"Hey, Daniel. Nice to meet you, though I wish it was on better terms. I'm Ihra, and you just met the shadow king." She says, smiling, letting go, and offering him a handshake.

"This was the least restful sleep in my life..."

 

"H-H-H-He was t-the king!?" Daniel says, shocked, accepting the handshake; shaking far more than a normal one.

 

“I couldn’t imagine.”
I offer a helpful hand up.

 

"Alright.. I should go then. Hope he hasn't found one of the centaurs yet."
He stands up, heading for the exit.

 

"Yep, you don't get any more dangerous than that. Told you I thought I was friends with the person who tore this place up." Ihra says, winking. "Not many people get to say they saw the king of shadows and didn't die immediately after."

"Careful, he hasn't seen you in your beast form yet. He might try to pick a fight with you."

One accepts it, the other dragging themselves up.
"What even happened...?"

 

"W-W-Well, h-he just choked m-me out." Daniel says.

 

"Choking out isn't dead."

 

"I-I guess." Daniel says.

 

"I mean, you could just look at everyone else. Actually, hold on. Can you stay here and keep quiet? I need to make sure the gardeners don't make him kill more people."

 

"O-Ok." Daniel says.
