Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"Okay, uhm... if you want, I can make you fall asleep until it leaves. That way it won't go to choke you out again."

 

"Really?"
He starts to brighten up.
"That's good to hear. That amazing."

 

Voidfiller either doesn’t hear him or doesn’t care.
Eventually, I release him, and he backs away, looking at the man.
“Heh. You better hope you’re dead by mornin’ bud.”
Voidfiller drops into a portal, disappearing.

 

"T-The guards m-must be notified! P-People are in danger!" The servant says nervously.

The sound of glass breaking can be heard from another room in the mansion.

"W-What was that?" The servant asks, looking around fearfully.

 

"The guards are dead. And yes, I know this 'it' you're talking about." Ihra sighs. "He's a friend, and I suggest you let me put you to sleep so he doesn't come back and kill you on his way out."

He smiles at you.
"You're friend's as crazy as I am."

"What do you mean?" She asks, confused.

 

"Y-You're friends with it!?" The servant asks, scrambling back, "h-help! HELP!"

 

“Yeah.”
I fold the robe in my hands.
“Why the fuck do you just have a raptor on you?”

 

Ihra puts a hand over the servant's mouth.
"Hey, I'm trying to keep you alive here! Do you want that or not?" She asks, worried.

"Oh, he was standing on the other side of the wall the whole time."
"I thought it was an important conversation." It comments as the man puts it back on the ground.
"Well... sort of, I guess?"

 

The servant struggles, scared, tears running down their face.

"Hey! Intruder! Stop right there!" A voice shouts, "Men! I've found the intruder!"

The sound of approaching footsteps can be heard.

 

Ihra sighs, patting the servant on the back.
"If this isn't who I think it is, then... crap."
Ihra taps her staff twice, a barrier forming around her.

 

The...barrier doesn't form. It appears the block Ihra felt seems to be nulling her magic.

A guard with his sword drawn stands pointing it at Ihra, a few more guards beginning to enter the front of the mansion.

 

Ihra sighs.
"Of course, everyone goes for the healer first!" She groans, gripping her staff a bit tighter.

 

"Stand down and nobody has to get hurt." One of the other guards says, the guard that spotted Ihra oddly slinking into the back of the crowd.

 

“Well, anyways, you should get home, and hope that he isn’t peeved when the morning comes.”

 

"Why must I always talk to myself? Maybe that herb isn't completely gone."

I settle down and get ready to sleep

 

"Hey, can you back me up on that I just got here?" Ihra asks, glancing at the servant. "The door's kinda wide open."

"I planned to not even be here in the morning. There's some portal in Aral'hrah's territory."

 

“Leads to the Void Palace. You can go to a lot of places from there.”

 

The mattress is soft, everything far more comfortable than what you have back at home...

...Aside from a brief dream of Nemmek falling through the floor, you sleep well and deep.

"S-She's f-friends with t-the killer!" The servant cries.

"Sound the alarm!" One of the guards barks, the other guards beginning to charge Ihra.

 

“Fair point. I’m off to wash this.”
I hold up the robe.
