Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

Shadow Stephanie just leaves, heading to the core.


"She?" The guard asks.


"He's currently away on a mission." One of the guards says.

 

Idhaenna's waiting.
"Nice shot."


"Ihra."


"Where?"
She tries linking with you.

 

"Thanks." Shadow Stephanie says, looking for the map.


"Fine, I'd assume." The guard says.


Ihra can't seem to reach far enough to get to me.

"I can't say. Even if I could, I'm not entirely certain where he is." The guard says.

 

"I might let you keep it if you make the second shot first try."
The map's to her left, showing a heavy concentration of foes waiting around B2 starting to move towards B1.


"Okay... I was worried something happened to her. Aj's always with her... or Artemis."


Ihra sighs.
"I bet he went to hell again..."

 

"I don't really need it outside of here." Shadow Stephanie says, trying to figure out where the last portal would be.


"She's under our protection whilst in the realm, too." The guard says.


"No, I can confirm he didn't go to hell." The guard says.

 

Outside of B1, in a now defended position.
"You don't really need a dagger, but you carry one anyway."


"Oh, that's nice. That must make her happy."


"You just said you didn't know where he we- hey... is Eve in?"

 

"I do need it. It's what helped me win the war, after all." Shadow Stephanie says.


"The king has stressed that her safety and happiness is a high priority." The guard says.


The guard nods.

 

"You won the war with it... but what has it won since?"


"Didn't she want him to come help with Idhaenna?"


"Can I go see her?"

 

"A lot of battles, and it's saved my life a few times." Shadow Stephanie says.


"Yes, though apparently Idhaenna offended him." The guard says.


"If you'd like." The guard says.

 

"No I'm fine. I came back because I wanted to ask the dragoness something. Is she with the dragonlings?"

 

“Even if you don’t find it in someone’s possession, it’d give a bit of closure.”

 

"Sentimentality I can respect. Come on.


"Oh? That seems weird..."


"Robotics lab, right?"

"Yeah, where else would she be?"

"For who?"

 

"Hm?" Shadow Stephanie asks.


"He went to see Eve as soon as he came back, though we're not quite sure why." The guard says.


The guard nods.

 

"It means exactly what come on means. Go, get moving, head to where you intend to go."


"Did Eve malfunction?"


Ihra rushes to an elevator, putting in the combo for the robotics lab and quickly heading towards Eve's chamber.

 

Shadow Stephanie heads back to her mech suit, getting back in it before heading to the location of the final portal.


The guard shrugs.


Eve doesn't seem to be in her chamber, though the door past her initial meeting room seems to be able to be opened.

 

The location is, of course, obscured by a battlefield.
This time, the sniper doesn't even lock on... or can't, it seems.


"...Sorry to ask too many questions. I just feel like this is all too good to be true."


Ihra tries knocking on the back chamber door.

 

Shadow Stephanie tries to find a hiding spot, or somewhere out of the enemies' field of vision.


"Why?" The guard asks.


The door opens as soon as Ihra gets close, revealing a much larger, albeit seemingly mostly empty, room. Artemis seems to be standing on a raised pedestal with her bow drawn back, while Eve sits at a chair with a few art supplies, drawing Artemis. From what Ihra can see, the drawing looks exceptionally good, extremely detailed; despite just being a sketch so far.

 

She hasn't been spotted at all yet.


"It's just so weird... my people were a bit irritated when I started painting to try and turn away from our pain. I didn't know that my escape would be worth anything to anyone else."


Ihra taps her staff on the floor, a bit confused.
"Hey, I, uh... I'm sorry I told Idhaenna I was worried about you."

 

Shadow Stephanie looks for a pathway to get nearer the portal without being seen.


"Things that are trivial to some can be very valuable to others." The guard says.


Artemis and Eve glance over at Ihra, Artemis' pose shifting as she lowers her bow, letting the strain off the string.

"Hm?" Eve asks, a little confused.

 

There isn't one; open space doesn't offer much to hide, and the debris left is too small to hide the entire mech.


"Apparently... it's kind of heartwarming."


"Oh, yeah... Aj just ran off. He got mad I told Idhaenna that I was worried about you, Eve. I wanted to apologize to him, but, uh... I should really get back before some crazy stuff happens."
