The Country Of Lamed Map (searching For Lore Crafters And Builders)

Hello humans and not so humans. Like most of you, I am a player of wynncraft, the amazing server designed to be an Mmorpg (and its a lot better than some MMOs too). Wynncraft is truly amazing with beautiful builds and intruiging lore. Whenever I play it I feel truly engaged wether I'm beating back zombies created by the corruption or helping a deranged lunatic steal cows. Thus Wynncraft has inspired me to do something of my own! Introducing Lamed! Lamed is a country containing many different races, towns, cities, people, and environments. I can't do this on my own, however. I need help. That's where you come in.

What I need.

-Lore Crafters: Lore is the most important part of Lamed. That's not to say that other stuff isn't important, it's just that lore is put first. My philosophy is that nothing ever truly exists unless it has a story behind it. So, in order to put lore first the most important people I need to recruit are Lore Crafters. Lore Crafters help me create lore. I already have some lore created but I need more and everything is more fun when you do it together. (I also don't really know how to organize a building team or how to get the building team on one world which is another reason lore is being put first.)


-Builders (building team): What's a story without something to tell it about. Builders will help create beautiful structures such as cities, ruins, boats, forests, rocks, mountains, and various other stuff. The building team will have a good amount of creative freedom mixed with guidelines set by the Lore Crafters. I will not be to involved with builders since I'm more of a lore kind of guy. Building isn't my forte. (Gonna need someone else to head up this team. Probably gonna need someone to figure out how to host a server for everyone to build the map on.)


-programmers (Tech Junkies): The job if the programmers is to work with commands to create astounding visual effects and sound. they also make sure our towns aren't filled with only villagers. Honestly it's mostly gonna be for visual effects and non villager population. Maybe sounds. Not much. Because I kind of think that this would make a great roleplay server (not Mmorpg roleplay. Roleplay roleplay.)


-Texture pack team (maybe): I'm still iffy about this one. I don't know if I want to use a custom texture pack yet.


-Composers (The Symphony): the job of the composers is to create music for Lamed. Maybe. They may or may not be needed.
Lore

I've already created some of the lore. Mostly just for races.

Spoiler: elves

-elves are skilled in the art of Magitech.
-Magitech is the art of creating machines using metal, steam, and magic.
-Elves used to be forest dwelling nomads until an elf named Fiona Leafdale discovered a way to blend metal and Magic.
-Elves live in towns and cities of various sizes powered by Magitech machines.
-elves changed their traditional naming system after Fiona discovered Magitech. They now have names centered around Magitech such as Steamton
-some elves decided to split off from the main group of elves and denounce Magitech entirely. These elves are now Feral Elves and they attack anyone who goes near their civilizations.

Spoiler: dwarves

-Dwarves are short, stout, and bearded.
-dwarves are masters of the forest and Druidic magic.
-dwarves live in underground treetop cities.
-dwarves were tasked by their god to spread the beauty and plant life of the upper world to the caves under the earth.
-most dwarves do not drink due to religious reasons, however, some do drink and if a dwarf decides to go into brewery they can make some damn good alcoholic beverages. Dwarven Ale is the best Ale.

Spoiler: humans

humans are the same as always. They have civilizations all over and are in pretty good terms with most other races.

Other tidbits and trivia
-I am not trying to copy or compete with wynncraft. This probably won't be a server and it will lack a lot of the Mmorpg elements.
-the name comes from the letter of the Hebrew alphabet that is the equivalent of L. This is because lore is the most important thing in Lamed and lore starts with an L.
-almost all cities will be anagrams and backwards spellings of the Lamed Team members names and screen names.

 

I have mild knowledge about redstone, and command blocks. I may not be the best builder, but I guess I could do that in desperate need.

Im curious if it is possible to make one item have multiple textures by adding specific names or enchants

 

I have no idea. Is it? I honestly don't know.

 

I believe it is. I remember seeing a video by Logdotzip quite a long time ago now a ton of different textures (modeled after the same item) just with different enchantments and enchant levels.

Eh. So why are there engineers and command blockers? Surely command blocks are better in every way?

There are things red stone can do that command blocks can't. Plus sometimes redstone looks more appropriate than command blocks.

Its also based on Durability mainly, you can have texture per durability, thats the main way textures are done.
Colored boots can also change textures, but durability is mainly where its at

 

Easily done with /setblock or /blockdata

 

Here's what redstone can do that command blocks can't: be thematically appropriate.

Hmm.. I'm always interested to help. Would probably be lore creation and maybe a bit of building. I do know redstone.

Also, this might just be me, but I feel like the elves and the dwarves lore should be switched around.
