Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"Well, yes, and everyone likes to eat different things."

 

"Can you suggest a location?" Shadow Stephanie asks.

 

"We can only know when we get a taste of it. Probably tastes as bitter as her."

 

Terrae shrugs.
"Most likely it fell off an airship. Those things do happen every now and again."

 

"I'm still of the mindset that we notice that because we're looking for it. You should get an outside opinion."

 

"I doubt it was your queen, even with her exploits on the surface in the past. No, I feel as though there's something more sinister here in the underground. I can't shake it, but I believe it will reveal itself soon."

 

I'll take a nap.

 

"I wish I could, but they took out most of the satellites, so I can't give specifics. Look for where they're concentrating their offense, then go somewhere else. That's the most specific I can get for now."

The bed isn't the most comfortable you've slept on, but it'll do...
You wake up four hours later to the sound of a boat engine going by.

"If it's any comfort, I can request we look for any abnormalities." They say, opening a door that's clearly meant for someone taller than you.

"I'll bring it to the gallery and see if anyone brings it up."

"Wouldn't it break?
Very long fall."

"True... but there's only one way to find out, eh?"

 

Shadow Stephanie looks at the map, seeing where the most attacked area is near to her, and where the least attacked area is in comparison.

 

Branch 2 seems to be rather calm, and Branch 3 has a huge concentration on it due to a blast door being shut.

 

"Alright. It's your artwork, do with it as you please."

 

"Yep. Take a bite when we find her, laying wounded somewhere on the shoreline or something."

 

"You two, stay here and guard this area, make sure anything that gets through is killed or held back." Shadow Stephanie says to Victus and Aqui.

"Yes, your higness." Victus says.

Shadow Stephanie quickly heads to branch 2.

 

There's about eight mechs total, all of them badly damaged and it doesn't even seem that they're functional enough to engage each other.

"Now you're thinking like a hunter."

"Hard to get more opinions when it's just us two. Apparently my paintings are popular, so I'm bound to get some responses." She says, taking the canvas off the stand.

 

"Can't do it now. Don't wanna risk getting killed by the likes of her."

 

Shadow Stephanie heads past the mechs, looking for a way into space.

 

"Oh, certainly."
I nod.

 

"Well, of course. Dying isn't going to help us have a taste."

"If you need anything else from me, ask one of my guards. I'll be back, and... something about asking them for a desk, I think?"

C4's broken wide open. She's already in space by the time she sees the remaining mechs.


The Matriarch shows up at the gates of the Shadow Palace, looking frustrated.

 

Shadow Stephanie looks around for a portal.


The guards open the gates for the matriarch once they see her.

 

"We're sounding like vampires."
He laughs.
