Aqui and Victus are talking to... a destroyed mech.


"We do, I don't know what causes our immunity."

"Because I screwed it up."

 

“If anything, I startled you, making the mess happen. And you fixed it perfectly.”

 

"Yeah, blood types and stuff."

 

"Elites, where are your forces?" Shadow Stephanie asks.

Aqui and Victus turn around, before immediately bowing.

"We lost them, your majesty. They're either in space fighting or dead." Victus says.

"We don't know of their chances of getting back to your realm, though we can only hope they made it." Aqui says.

"Hrmm. Well, cover me and get this door open. I've got a way of shutting down the portals and ending this, but I need a clear shot." Shadow Stephanie says.

"Wouldn't it be wiser to wait for reinforcements? I don't think we'll be able to do as much as the armies that covered us did." Victus says.

"I trust in your abilities, especially when together." Shadow Stephanie says.

"We'll try our best." Aqui says.

"That's all I can ask of you." Shadow Stephanie says, smiling.

 

"The Lost and Found Area." Terrae says.
An Orc walks over to the crate, examines it for a minute or so, then takes it away with him.

 

A. Food taste better when cooked for a long time over a low fire.

The reforming mech seems to object.
"All due respect, your foreign highness, but are you sure it is wise to lower the blast doors? The wall is long gone, opening them will expose us to the full force of their siege artillery. Perhaps you would have a clearer shot if you went out towards a flank that they think needs no guarding, as we're pushed in pretty far?"

"Okay, but then...

"The only thing that anyone can see if that you're being too self-conscious about your work. You, as opposed to anyone who's seeing this, are looking for something wrong with that spot. Even if someone were to scrutinize your work here, they wouldn't be able to focus on what you're focusing on."

 

You've now got a cooked fish and a warm fire, as the sun starts to set.

"No, seriously, you can see from the brushstrokes where I scraped..."

"You think our queen was making a move against the surface dwellers?"

I say, analyzing it again.

 

A closer look reveals a rather obvious coverup, brushstrokes going every which way as if to try and blend the colors together.
"You sure?"

 

"Okay, at a close look, yeah."

 

"That's what I mean. It'll stick out."

 

I'll eat my fish before any sprit plane stuff happens.

 

By the time you finish, you still have several hours before the transition.
No reason you couldn't settle down and take a nap before the spectral transition wakes you up, unless you wanted to prep something else.
