Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

Shadow Stephanie just watches, waiting.

 

They finally arrive, led by another robotic bee.

 

Shadow Stephanie glances back toward the core.

 

There's just a wall with a slight distortion over it, signifying a transition between the physical and spectral planes.

 

Shadow Stephanie sighs, bored.

 

“You’re not even going to tell me what you’re digging for?”

 

Any metal nearby?

 

The holomap updates with both breached sectors marked as destroyed, B2 starting to be breached and chamber four being breached on the other two fronts.

Someone else jumps in the same chamber the group is in, a heavy mechsuit forming around their body before they glance over and take some sort of cannon of their back and grip the barrel like the handle of a hanmer.
"Heh, cavalry's already here? Gonna play the waiting game or try and stop this thing from falling into the black hole it's in orbit around?" They ask.

"Not without any offer of protection."

Rusty nails, old doorhinges, and a few broken lanterns.

 

"We're going to attack them head on." Ignia says, controlling the group the mechsuit-wearing person jumped into.

 

“Shucks.”
Part of the earth rises up, grabbing one of her legs and encasing it.

 

"You all spread out equally or somethin? This don't look like much, and light armor won't last you long."
Two more people show up, also deploying their mechsuits.
"Commander, enough chitchat. Move!"
"I don't want our allies marching to their deaths!"
"They're not in as rough of a situation as we are, shut up and go!"

The mechsuit pilot sighs, waving at Ignia before charging through the plane transition ahead.

"Aw, not going to let me make this easier on you?"

 

Ignia continues leading the group forward, looking for any signs of the enemy.

 

None yet, she's only progressed to chamber 3.
The walls of B2C5 seem to have finally been breached, though it's still not marked as destroyed.

Idhaenna links with Shadow Stephanie.
"Also... pardon me for glazing over this detail, but my palace is a space station in orbit around a black hole, so you get no second chances if you take too long or butcher this."

 

"I've got a worst-possibility protocol, which should hopefully get most of us out of here before things go terrible." Shadow Stephanie says.

 

“Oh, trust me, this is, in fact, the easy way.”
More earth comes up, encasing her second leg.
“See, I actually don’t care all too much about who killed the king. I’m curious, sure, but my care ends there.”

 

"Better hope it works. Also, has your army not realized that the vents are a hideously slow way to get around?"

"Wouldn't it be a shame if the truth died with me... you'd be making a void you cannot hope to fill." She challenges.

 

She starts to sink into the earth.
“You’re assuming that I’m going to kill you.”

 

"No. They're going to start heading through the barriers for efficiency, at the cost of physicality." Shadow Stephanie says.

 

She slides a pill beneath her tongue.
"I'd never assume something so low from the friend of a friend."

"Good, it doesn't even hurt. Now, reactors are in the third chambers. Ideally you'll manage to keep them intact so I'm not repairing the entire thing."

 

Voidfiller immediately fills her mouth with large amounts of water, some of the water ending up in her lungs. The water constantly moves and swirls around as well.
