I'm confused as to what had happened to him. We haven't heard of him anywhere as per the present or seen him in person. So what did happen to him? Did Bob kill him? Is he sitting in the Nether right now? Is he hiding.....

    ..

or is he still out there, in Wynn?

    discuss here.

Well, in the Gavel trailer we see him interact with the player IIRC, and in the final cutscene of the ultimate discovery we see Bob drive him away but not kill him.

If I had to guess he’s sitting around in the Nether and will be important when the “main storyline” comes out

Short answer: We don’t know. Long Answer: Bak’al disappeared after he fought Bob. We don’t know exactly where he went, but he’s probably hiding in a dark realm or the nether, waiting for the word that Bob is gone. I suspect that we will encounter Bak’al in a mid to end game quest.

    bob didn't kill him
he fled and then it is said he has yet to invade a town after bob bullied him in 3rd grade, so ultimately he couldn't have been killed by bob. Also if he had been chillin' in da nether for all that time, then by then he would have been killed/corrupted fully. We haven't heard anything of his whereabouts

I'm guessing he's biding his time, and gaining more power; after all, the entire province ks currently filled with powerful and magical adventurers who would have a great time kicking him into the dirt. Even with Bob gone, it's still probably too great a risk for him to return.

    What if he became CoW?

The poor man was never heard from again...well, that is until the corrupted hordes began to pour from the Nether, with him leading the pack. A bit ironic, isn't it? Led the miners in life, the corrupteds in death.

Sounds suspiciously similar to Bak'al, doesn't it? Also, when entering the dungeon, Garoth declares himself to be the second human 'set free' by the portal. He should in fact be the fourth, after CoW, Bak'al and Theorick. It is possible that Garoth does not count Theorick given that he resisted the corruption, but that still leaves his count one too many, unless CoW and Bak'al are in fact the same person. It also would not make sense for CoW to have abandoned his leadership of the Corrupteds to hide in a cave, unless, perhaps Bob injured him leaving only a skeletal form and sealed him away, so he could never attack a town again, which would also explain Bak'al's continued absence after the death of Bob. Nowhere does anything actually say they aren't one and the same, but there are plenty of hints that they are. (@SPYROHAWK)

623 AP, it says in his journal:

Garoth's Journal: Day 4: The year is 623 AP. My base of operations has been completed, along with a safety bunker.

So yes, it was after Theorick.

No. CoW is literally the Corruption Beast, the physical embodiment of Corruption, just how Orphion and the Eye are the physical embodiments of Light and Darkness. They are two separate beings.

Garoth just didn't know of the CoW's existence, very few people do, in fact.

I actually did notice that inconstancy with what Garoth says. I like your evidence, Bark'al becoming CoW. But, it still seems like a stretch, just because

Also, timeline for your think about Theorick. If Theorick went in AFTER Garoth, then it fits

Hey what if they created a quest series for Bak'al where we have to gather help from people around and information and then on the final quest series fight him. But in a different way where you have allies/ Npcs that aid you like how there were npcs in One thousand meters under with their low health and all. It would make it more interesting than a typical boss fight because hes an important character

Where's your source for this? I really don't think the physical embodiment of corruption would be that easy to destroy, and that some corrupted entities can be more powerful than it (some of the corrupted dungeon bosses). And surely the destruction of such a thing would have profound implications for the corruption as a whole, yet nobody remarks on it getting weaker. I also think it's highly unlikely for such a beast to just hang out in a cave near Troms, none of which looks corrupted.

Except for every NPC in the quest, and presumably anyone who's entered or tried to enter ToL. And if anyone had heard of CoW, it would be the man who dedicated his life to studying the corruption. I think it's almost certain that Garoth was aware of CoW.

    Which part exactly?
    ________________________________

I assume he wants to me to explain the part about CoW being the Corruption Beast. Well, it’s been stated in the RoL quest I believe that each realm has a “beast” the physical embodiment of the realm.

The thing in the dog is stated to be the one for Light, and so we theorize that The Eye is the one for Dark.

The Nether is difficult because there are no real strong creatures from there, except for maybe Charon. I kind of assumed CoW because, before this most recent update, he’s the strongest Corrupted creature (not counting corrupted dungeon bosses, since they don’t really fit into the lore). Ofc this has problems, such as CoW not being from the Nether
