Tales Of Xanasia (rp)

So theres three cities:Cere, which is the main magic city and where most mages come from. Xanasia, which is the main city in the rp and is run by tech companies, and the third city is Mendier which is where most magic creatures live, also its ruled by undead monarchs. As far as big map picture the cities make a rough triangle, each about 15 miles from the others. However the landscape is infested by dangerous monsters and demons.
Every six years there is a six month period where no monsters can be found, making that the only time to get between cities. The last time this happened was six months before the roleplay will start so your characters will have some idea of how to get around the city.
As far as what the city looks like lots of close together skyscrapers, mostly gray or black, and usually quite a few billboards on each. Main transportation is like a subway system or just walking. you can also see some bridges between different buildings. Restaurants and shops can be found on the lower levels of buildings, with offices dominating the higher levels, factories also ring the outside of the city. In the center of the city there's a Nuclear Fusion plant that generates the electricity for the city, it looks like a large dome from the outside. There is also an extensive tunnel network under the city.

Spoiler: Magic Information

Magic: Magic is divided into three categories based on where the power comes from. Celestial magic is usually magic that involves stuff with the mind or stuff like light and dark, or sun and moon magic. Anything that you would consider elemental or physical magic. Celestial magic is controlled by the Celestials which are very similar to greek gods. Elemental magic is connected to the dragons. This is stuff like elemental magic and even stuff like growing plants or changing physical objects. Dragons are extinctish but their magic still exists. The third magical force is the Void. This is very powerful and dangerous magic but if you plan on being a villain it would be a good choice. Not much is known about the Void other than that it is where most monsters come from. Depending on what magic you pick I can tell you more about it.
How magic works is in 4 different ways, the first one Im going to refer to as quirks(Yes I know)
basically magic you can use without doing spells, most mages are born with theirs or developer it in the childhood. Quirks also determine which magic power you associate with, but no one is born with void magic. The next way is spell casting, pretty self explanatory, usually you'll focus on certain types of spells, but Im also giving every magic character a fireball spell, minor healing spell, basic shield spell, and one that summons a ball of light. Next is potions, these vary so much that its kind of hard to categorize, but anything you drink that has magic properties is a potion. You can make potions many ways and its pretty much a character based thing, but if you do focus on potions your normal magic will be weaker. The fourth way is runes, written magic symbols, some magic books are written in runic, but its an ancient and dangerous way to do magic, so I'd strongly recommend not using it.

Spoiler: Tech Information

Since this is a futuristic world there is quite a lot of tech. Mostly whatever you can think of is fine, as long as it works logically, and has a logical creation, such as stolen from the military, or even just bought from a store. The are no laser weapons or lightsaber like weapons, but you can have plasma weapons, which inflict very bad burns and can usually be one shot kills. Of course regular bullets still work. As far as robots, a lot of the security and police are robots, so you can play as a sentient robot. A robot is possibly a weapon, but it will have to be small or compactable, because its illegal to own such a robot. AI also exists, and its not uncommon to have a personal AI, such as in a phone or other tech you carry. Basically you can use whatever you come up with, as long as it makes some logical sense. Having hacking for a skill is also acceptable,

Sorry Ive been off for a while, I got a busy weekend so setting up characters will start Monday, this is a futuristic fantasy book to give you some ideas

Because I want to keep players from knowing more about the world than their characters do as much as I can I'm going to make a general template for characters here and then finish it in a Conversation.
