First rule of DMing: Your players never do what you expect.

 

You comes across several intersections, and I assume you follow the path that the dust goes down.

But, you eventually come across a T in the path, and the dust stops for a second. To the left path, is a large, hulking, shaking figure. In the right path is a dimly glowing figure, dark on top, facing away from you.

 

Yevor: "What."

 

Ti'Lin:"Right! That's the spirit. Left is probably that crazed robot butler."

 

Yevor: "So, what should we do?"

 

Ti'Lin:"Go right! We know how to handle the spirit."

 

Yevor: "Okay."
Yevor slowly starts going to the right.

 

Ti'Lin:"Good."
He follows, holding the locket in his hands.

 

Heat follows.

 

Actually, left is something much worse than the robot.

Anyway, as you approach the spirit she becomes more visible. It’s a woman in a white sleeping gown, with pale skin and jet black hair. She is turned away from you. And is slightly glowing and slightly transparent.

 

Heat (whispering): "This looks like the woman in the locket."

What can I see on the other side of her? Since she's transparent.

 

Not really, think of it like you can see what’s ON the other side of her, but you can’t see THE other side of her

 

He holds up his locket.
Ti'Lin:"Hello?"

 

She turns to you, her pale face looking scared. Her eyes slowly widen, and she begins to open her mouth.

You have the chance to do something, but you can only do ONE THING and must be done quickly

 

He opens the locket and show the woman the picture.
Ti'Lin:"Is this you?"

 

Why does that sound like a shitty fan fiction?

That stalls her for a second, unresponding. You get to do another thing, but once again, it must be quick.
