Generic Fantasy - [5/7]

I charge right to their side, grabbing the bag without killing them as I fly past them.

"Well that's that. See ya."

And then I leave, continuing to head to Kyuuvar.

 

"Why yes, the monsters are quite horrific in the Bloodwood, but luckily for us, our travels won't be taking us directly into the forest for a time. If you wish for treasure beyond your dreams, I say we head east right now."

 

The beast explodes into even more blood, throughly soaking you and everyone around you. It is guaranteed to be a pain to wash out.
You have slain the [Bearish Blood Beast Thing].

Guard: "It's nice to see people who know proper appreciation.. heh."

The guard exits the alleyway, heading back to help with the body.

Bandit: "....I think I should stop robbing. Maybe head back to Seaport..."

You keep working your way through the foothills. Eventually, they open up into a larger valley with a decently-sized and walled city sitting on the banks of the river. Docks line the river, even far from the city, and on its other side lies what looks to be the start of a mountain pass.
The opposite end of the valley opens up, and for the first time you see an actual horizon.
The sun lies straight ahead, only slightly above the hills on the western end of the valley.

Adventurers: "There goes our plan of spending winter in the tropics... We'll do it."

 

I try to clean off as much blood as I can and then ask to the closest person
Dez:"What the hell was that?"

 

Thorston quickly nods and heads further out. What time is it?

 

What time is it?

 

"Fantastic! If we set off right away, we should hit the village in two weeks time. Now, companions, let us make for Ilverfang!"

I begin to walk east before stopping and turning around.

"I wouldn't suppose any of you would have access to horses, would you?"

 

I go back to doing what I was previously doing, before being interupted by the bear, with no reaction to the blood covering me whatsoever.

Eradius: "A bear. Do you lizardmen have no bears from wherever you come from?"

 

Dez:"You call that monstrosity a bear!? It was the second most terrifying thing I've ever seen." I take of my bandana and try to get some more blood of off me and then return to reading

 

Eradius: "If you call that a monster then you probably don't go outside much."

 

An hour before sundown, tops.

Roughly a 30 minute lag behind Thorston by now.

"We usually walk, so no. Maybe we could sail a boat up the coast, get off it, and go inland?"

Fayuma stands on a wagon and starts yelling loud enough for everyone to hear. Her voice is kind of grating at this volume.

Fayuma: "Alright then! I just got some info from a sendin' scroll, and I'll be tellin' ye what we'll be doin' for the next week or two. The first order of business is gettin' a good government set in Kyuuvar now that their lord's dead. What we want is a weak one that the emperor'll be able to boss around easily. Our job is to roam around an' kill anyone who has both a backbone and the means to take the place over. Got it?"

 

"I believe that would be the best choice, yes. Now, I hope you all have a boat of your own, because we're not getting one from the town."

 

Eradius: "Yeah, yeah."
I wave my hand in annoyence.

 

I give her a thumbs up bit taking off my eyes of the book

 

I look for sewer entrances and abandoned buildings, trying to stay out of trouble.

 

The group spends several seconds acting like that wasn't their plan.
"Well, to be fair, the people who owned them are probably dead or long escaped by now..."

She sits.
The horses are readied, and all four carts lurch into motion. Everyone goes back to doing whatever they do during trips. It's mostly boasting, story-telling, and sleeping, but the guys directly behind you tend to create small explosions and strange clouds of gas every so often.

Most of the group leadership (Fayuma and you guys, at this point, because of nominal importance and such) are seated in the front cart.

You slowly creep through the outer districts of the city, and it soon becomes clear to you that this urban sprawl wasn't planned at all. Luckily, there seems to be a small abandoned house only a few blocks from where you were, tucked away in a nice secluded back street. It's in nice shape, too, or at least as nice as an abandoned place can get.
The house has one floor, with a large main room and two bedrooms tucked in the back.

 

Do I still have the scroll of the Dealyed Bomb spell? If so, I try to change it so instead of setting a bomb on the item, the caster places it on himself.

I look at the bedrooms. Also, what time is it?

 

"They also happen to be on fire. I'd be perfectly fine with taking a boat- lawfully, I remind you- and using it,but the boat would have to be more than embers beforehand."
