Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"There used to be ten kingdoms? The lands have had deadzones on the surface for years, it makes sense that those used to have kingdoms within that space."

 

"Eh, just jobs we've been given. I don't really look into it much. I make the parts, I get money." The smith shrugs.


A few guards begin digging Sapphire's grave, working hard.

 

"Yes, they're related to the deadzones, but there never was ten at once. At least, there never were ten worth mentioning at any given time..."

 

Voidfiller enters the house.
"Alright! No more of this shit!"
Voidfiller starts to transform into a being much larger than him. It looks almost like a multi-headed humanoid snake, but with a flat base and an oily black body that's constantly dripping onto itself. Each mouth seems easily big enough to fit a person's head.
"Next person who moves gets swallowed!"

 

"Fair enough. Also, if you don't mind me asking this out of the blue, what kind of food do you like? I got a job here as a chef, but I'm new to... well, pretty much everything here."


The box is fairly small; no need to dig a large hole.

The pursuer swallows hard, the woman letting her hand rest.
"T-the hell...?"
"..."

 

"Now then..."
The heads drift from person to person, looking at them.
"Which one 'a you's after the forensics stuff?"

 

"I'm after the runner!"
The woman swallows, glancing at Voidfiller once before looking at the ground.

 

"Ah. Good..."
The heads zone in on the woman.
"...Where is the stuff, anyways? I don't want to leave here without getting it."
One head whispers into her ear with a change of tone.

 

"I see. The main seven must have been the most noticable. It's a shame, having more kingdoms would've been far more interesting/"

 

"Spicy, filling stuff. Like large legs and stuff, things that are hard to finish and leave a fire in your mouth." The smith says, thinking about food.


The guards dig a large enough hole in no time, gently placing the box inside before filling it in as a group of guardians and light creatures come to the grave.

 

The attacker seems nervous but a bit relieved.

She shakes her head, glancing at the man.

An unfamiliar voice from behind responds in place of Reiglynn.
"If there were more than seven, the underground would be overrun."

Turning reveals a harpy wearing a crown and heavy jeweled robes, bright green wings contrasting blatantly with her surroundings.

"Spice? Hmm... perhaps something like napalm, but with flavor instead of pain? Something that burns the more you get into it? Does that sound of interest?"


The puppets are arranged so they look like they're either mourning or standing guard over the grave.

 

"Oh. Right."
He whispers again, then all the heads snap to the man.
"I think it's time you left the building, boy."
He says threateningly.

 

He nods, stumbling off (and visibly taking off a few blocks)

"...This case is it." The woman mumbles.

 

"Figured."
There's a pause as he looks at himself.
"I mean, this works, but what even is this stuff...?"
He asks himself quietly.

 

She opens the case, revealing a few small bottles of chemicals and a slot for the scalpel near her hand, which she puts back.
"If you asked me twenty years ago, I could tell you."

 

"Ugh."
Voidfiller says, disgusted, before turning back to normal.
"Now, let's get out of here. Some of your friends are waiting."

 

"...What's offputting?"

 

"That thing I shifted into. You'd think someone like me would get used to it, but there's just some forms that even repulse me."

 

"You haven't smelled anything until you dig your way out of a pile of raptor corpses..." She grunts, closing the case again. "Now if you've got the others, let's go already."

 

Voidfiller chuckles.
"I've got two of the three others, Thirteen's got the third."
He starts existing the house.
