Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

It seems one hundred bronze equals one silver, one hundred silver equals one gold, one thousand gold equals one diamond, and one thousand diamond equals one mage.


The guards take the puppets to a graveyard, where a few sculptors seem to be waiting with a large block of stone.

 

Ali continues reading, mostly looking for wage summaries or the purchasing power of each coin.


The behemoth puppet suddenly starts to resist before a hatch opens.
"Hey, don't you bury my inheritance with her!" A draconian snaps.

 

“Taking without thinking of repercussions. They made a new inhibitor.”

 

Ali finds through reading the book that bronze seems to be mainly for change or low donations, not really used for actual purchases. Silver seems to have a bigger influence as change, and some cheap purchases can be made with it. Gold seems to be used for most purchases in the low medium to high expense range, while Diamond seems to be for high expense items; rare gems and minerals, high quality clothing and the like. Mage appears to be used for extremely high expenses, such as houses costing just over two or three, though some mansions have been listed to have been sold for as high as ten or even fifteen.


"We weren't planning on burying the puppets, though we didn't realise you were in there. Are there others in there or in other puppets?" A guard asks.

 

Ali looks to see if there are any even higher denominations, thinking.


"No, this one was to be my inheritance. I suppose you can imagine my surprise to wake up and realize I was somewhere that's blinding."

"I overheard that they were trying to use the ruin as fuel. Rumors go around, I guess."

 

I shrug.
"Don't know about that."

 

"...Not your friends, the dark royals."

 

“My statement still stands.”

 

"Eh.. don't worry. Never met a deaf person before, so I thought it might be interesting to look at."

 

A bit further on there seems to be a conceptualised 'Paradoxium' coin. Due to the unstability of paradoxium, they're simply a concept coin for one thousand mage.


"Will you permit us to sculpt a tombstone in it's likeness for it's previous owner?" The guard asks.

 

I'll check out the cabin.

 

He nods, keeping quiet.
"...Now will you go check on the others?"

The roof may as well be made of moss, and an old mattress on the floor is about the only thing of note in the first room. In the second, there's a lantern and a wanted poster with your face on it.

Ali keeps reading through, fairly satisfied.


"Sure. Do you want me to lock the strings in amy of the other puppets so they aren't limp while you do that?"
Pause.
"...Well, if you could give me something to not go blind, first, that'd be great."

She chuckles.
"It was a bit tough to work out at first, but yeah. Not really as interesting as it sounds."

 

The book goes on to detail the history of money, how gold coin's value are differentiated from gold bars, how the economy is controlled and how coins can't be faked.


One of the guards produces a pair of sunglasses, offering them.

 

"Oh.."
He awkwardly looks at the dragoness.
"So... do you know how long the fight lasts?"

 

"What fight? I've been home taking care of the kids for a while now."

Ali looks at how coins can't be faked.


The draconian puts them on.
"Thanks... now, again, do you want me to lock the strings so the puppets don't stay limp?"

 

It appears that coins appear to have special hexes and enchantments on them to make them valid coins, as well as preventing them from being melted down or duplicated through magic.


The sunglasses appear to be magic, showing the world with less brightness and light without darkening vision.

"Yes please." One of the sculptors pipes up.

 

Ali looks at their value in comparison to bars of gold.


She locks the behemoth first, making it seem like it's roaring.
She then puts the serpent in a coil and makes it look down a bit, and the gryphon looks like it's resting.
The golem starts to move before it pauses.
"Hey, do you want the golem split or not?" She calls from within.

 

"Between the Ziz and the Leviathan."

 

“Voidfiller might be there already. I’ll check with him.”
I put my hand to my ear.

 

"They're fighting again? Ugh... no wonder he's bringing home so many guests."
