Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"Not sure... I just need enough to convince you."

 

"Not really. In fact, people prefer to stay here. As much as it doesn't have as many books, they prefer the comfort of the palace." The librarian says.

 

"And not 30 other people? I don't run this place."

 

"Hmm. I guess it just seems like there's more people there since there's more space... plus this isn't in the middle of a warzone."

"They're not going to listen to me anyways." He shrugs.

 

"Why'd they let you out in the first place, then?"

 

"They didn't."

 

"Ah."
Pause.
"You were jailed before nearly everyone got killed, right?"

 

"Yep. The one time I appreciated being locked up."

 

“So then why don’t you think people will listen to you? A lot’s changed.”

 

"Good night, wolf." He thinks to himself before he lays back down.

 

"That too." The librarian laughs.

 

"We got shoved to the back, never got a good look at the mess."

You wind up falling asleep quickly...

You feel something rub up against you hours later.

Ali smiles.
"Anyhow, thanks again." She says, starting towards the computers.

 

"Feel free to ask if you need any more help!" The librarian says happily, before going back to her book.

The computers have a GUI with slowly scrolling pictures of book covers, their names and authors listed in text underneath. A search bar rests at the top with the words "Enter a book id here", while tabs rest below it. It seems the current tab is "Popular", listing the copies of books that have been taken out the most recently. The other tabs are "Newest", "Recently Taken Out" and "Big Names"

 

“Hm. Well, it’s a good a time as any to change things.”
I start making my way back up the ramp.

 

She looks for a source of input (keyboard, mouse, etc), confused.

 

There doesn't seem to be any obvious means of input.

 

"Hmm?"
He turns over and looks what it is.

 

"They can only handle so much change at once."

Anne's snuggled up next to you now.

Confused, she tries touching the screen.

 

Ali ends up touching a book, and the screen opens onto a page detailing the book: It's title and author, a brief summary, price to take out and the amount of copies available. An arrow pointing left appears in the top left corner of the screen, presumably to go back.

 

She touches the arrow, then the search bar (if it reappears).
