Are Spectating Cam Mods Allowed?

HI,
I've a question:

Can this mod be used?

It' called FreeCam.

FreeCam allows Player to fly. For server your PG will be seen standing at the same place. In spectating state you can only fly throw walls, but can not kill people aswell as placing blocks. If you turn off the mod, you will be teleported to the same place from you start spectrating. Other players see you like you standing at place.

I've read the rules section and I can assure you that this mod do not give player any kind of gameplay advantages, but i want to ask u before i do anything.

1. No hacking/hacked clients.
(ex. fly hacking, aimbotting/killaura, water walking, xray, entity tracker, speed hacking & possession of a hacked client, even when not in use.) Modded clients are allowed as long as they do not give you any gameplay advantages.

As u can read here, the first hack in the list is fly hacking. Now, as i said before this mod cannot give any kind of gameplay advantages and therefore cannot be look as a fly hack and so, this should not be against rule.

At the end, all i want is just to take some Screenshots of those incredible creations :D

You need permission from a mod or perhaps admin. Contact a mod.

This is a very debatable thing. However yes, it can give advantages such as puzzles or mazes (if there are any I don't remember, last time I checked they aren't a thing), or other possible things. This can give many different advantages. Flying isn't just used for getting places, it's used to scope places out. Your intentions MAY be pure, but if this Mod is allowed, some not-so-pure ideas will surface.

Yes the mod does send you back to your original position, but the system may register you as flying and will kick you out. This is one of the few problems along with the previously-mentioned advantages of scoping places out. This also can make potential glitches/bugs. So in my opinion, I don't think this would be allowed... I think...

 

This mod is not allowed. The ability to see through walls, no matter how pure the intentions can only cause trouble.

 

Thank you all, OGK, your point makes sense... and i'll contanct someday a modder for more information, however i'm starting to thinking that it's not worth it at this point. I don't know...

PM a mod, not an admin. If you need permission from an admin, then a mod will ask them for you

 

I would imagine it wouldn't be allowed since it let's you see stuff outside the map, which is not encouraged. But yeah I would contact a staff member about it .

The server does not register freecam as flying, but it is a hack

 

I don't get the image, but ok... i understand the point of the other people and do respect them for given me a polite answer.

 

If you go in the image you can see that I am using Impact 3.0 [A hacked client] Which is running freecam

Just use archer

I'm an archer but in what way it gives me an advantage for screenshot in mid air...

suggestin using optifine would have been a much better suggestion than using archer.... jeez guys are u serious...

 

Archer is a class that allows you to get to many unreachable places for many other classes. Archer+Optifine means a lot better shots. Using it will be nice.

You could easily exploit this mod to fly out of bounds and look at stuff not currently released, like the massive section of the wynn map that's covered up right now.
