The Shadow Hound has it’s CR (effectively CR 10) but doesn’t list what that means for XP

 

Take five CR 2 monsters (i. e. Gibbering Mouthers) and find how much they're worth.

Cool! I'm not sure if that's entirely correct, but I also won't complain about more EXP.

Also, is it just me, or is the battle map incredibly laggy?

 

It’s not too bad for me, but if you ave lag it’s probobly from the inventories

Well, TECHNICALLY it should be 2250 split evenly among the party, which is only around 280. But due to that fact that combat takes forever in this campaign, just due to being an online campaign, and things move at weird paces, it’s much more enjoyable to give you the full XP each, it keeps things moving at a better pace

 

My terrible computer probably also has a part in that. Yeah, it's probably from the inventories.

True. Maybe we'll reach Level 6 by the time we get to the source of the undead plague!

 

I think the final boss was balanced expecting you all to be Level 5, so I might need to buff it

 

Actually, don't. His equipment was not accounted for in his CR, and probably puts him far above what's written. I might try recalculating his CR...

I think that the Mechanical Servant is at Level 6.

So far, his first form seems to be CR 8.

Okay so i need some help making a decision
At my next ability score improvement i'm going take the aarkoa racial feat because there's a combo with it (I'll explain it but i made it super confusing)
but idk if i should put 2 levels in wizard or 2 levels in artificer

 

What does Artificer get at 5th level, and what does Wizard get at 2nd level? Compare those two options and figure out what you like more.

 

Keep in mind that unlike proficiency bonus which is total character level, ASIs are based on level per class. You need to get a single class (Artificer OR Wizard) to level 8 for your next ASI, not a combo that equals 8

Fair enough. His armor is magical, and his weapon is an artifact. That CR is effectively CR 16 though, right?

No. His XP value, as two CR 8 creatures, is 7,800. A CR 16 Adult Silver Dragon has an XP value of 15,000. So, different.

 

XP aside, I mean difficulty. 8 + 8 = 16, if I’m not going crazy

 

The encounter difficulty is about the same, yes.

 

Someone put everyone XP back at the same value it seems XD
