Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"Thanks. Uhm... I'm going to go see what the city has to offer, if you don't need me right away."

 

"Sure, go ahead." I say.

Eve gets up, offering her drawing to Ali.

 

"The other four are, I almost ran into your buddy so I hung back and hoped there wasn't any harm done... by the way, you've got crazy friends."

Ali seems a bit confused before accepting the drawing and taking a look at it.

 

The drawing seems to be an incredibly detailed drawing of Ali herself, almost like looking into a stylised mirror.

 

"I sure do."

Voidfiller flies in the direction that the rest of the group was running, searching for them.

 

Ali seems a bit stunned.
"...Did you scan me on the way in? This is... really really good."

 

"Thanks." Eve says, smiling happily.

 

He can see seven people running, three ahead who start weaving between trees.

Any onlooking mantis are just confused, a few raptors joining the chase thinking it's a game of sorts.

Ali hands it back to Eve.
"You should meet Miss Maralune sometime. Her art's really nice, too."

 

He flies after the ones ahead, zoning in on one as he messes with his rope more.

 

"The one who donated the art to the museum?" Eve asks.

 

"Yeah, her."

The one he zones in on is making a rush for a set of mantis houses, their residents seemingly either absent or asleep.

 

"I'd like to meet her some time actually. She seems like a good artist." Eve says.

 

Voidfiller rushes to get to them, using wind magic to quicken himself. Once he reaches them, he attached a small cup-like object connected to the rope on their back.

 

At this, I almost fall out of the chair

"Quadruple? Everyone is always told the underground is uninhabitable. We've heard that story for generations. I've heard of people who have gone into the underground and came back broken and weak. How can people live in those conditions?"

 

"Well, I'm sure Aj or Emerald could help you arrange that."

They keep running, glancing back before trying to juke out Voidfiller.

Another fanged smile.
"...Would you be interested in seeing the underground with your own eyes?"

 

Eve smiles, before heading back to her seat and sitting down again.

 

Voidfiller just goes around a tree, bringing the rope with him. The rope tugs on the person's back, keeping him from moving with ease, or moving at all. The cup doesn't seem to falter, either.
"Now, where do you think you're going?"

 

"Should I plant my face into the ground?"
He chuckles.

 

"I would be interested, yes. It's like being asked to see the other side of the wall."

 

I'll look around some more.
