Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"Oh, yeah! It'd be lovely to have you as one of our chefs." I say happily.

 

The crowd parts to let you through.

 

I make my way through the castle to the front.

...before I get there, though, Voidfiller portals in from the sky, properly disguised as a human for the occasion.

 

Ali smiles.
"Thanks. And, uh... would you mind helping me get acquainted with the kitchen whenever you have me start? It's sort of... strange... being a follower of light in a realm of shadows."

He almost gets trampled by five people chasing after four others.

 

"Sure. When did you want to start?" I ask.

Eve begins drawing.

 

"Hey!"
He shouts, getting out of the way, watching them go.

 

"I, uh... I don't know. I was going to ask you if there was a bunk room or something here I could crash at, and if there were any set hours or anything... The one upside to this place for me is that I sleep a lot better."

One of the five stops and looks him over.
"...Sorry about that. Chasing suspects. You good?"

 

"I could have a room created for you, if you'd like," I say, "The hours you work can be decided by what shift you want to do, breakfast, lunch, dinner or night meals; each shift lasts 6 hours."

 

"Yeah, yeah, I'm fine."
He brushes his blank, white tee-shirt off a bit.
"I was just headed inside the castle, a friend called me for some investigation thing."

 

Ali pauses, thinking.
"I'm pretty used to working my own hours... is there any way I could work on making new dishes?"

"Oh, you with the robot?"

 

"What is it?"
He stands up.
"Like this?"

 

He shakes his head before pushing you a bit more.

 

"Sure am. I'm guessing that's about the investigation, huh?"

 

"Sure, you could have your own part of the kitchens and access to whatever ingredients you want if you'd like; the hours would be up to you, though payment would be through the amount of work you do." I say.

 

"As long as I get enough to cover room and ingreedients, I don't know what I'd spend a wage on. I haven't had a chance to go around town."

"Yep. When the robot gets to you, can you let him know that they're booking it straight into the ruin?"

 

"There's clothing shops, antique shops, furniture shops, a lot of different types of shops you could spend money in." Eve says as she draws.

"I can cover your room, and you don't need to pay for the ingredients." I say.

 

"You let him know."
Voidfiller makes an object that just looks like a green brick with a glassy sphere and a button appear in his right hand, and some strange-looking rope appear in his left. He then holds out the brick.
"Just press the button and talk into it. Don't worry about the logistics."

 

"I'll have to take a walk around sometime soon, I guess." Ali shrugs. "And... if you don't mind me being picky, is it possible to have a space for a few crops?"

The man presses the button confused.
"Uh... I'll take your word for it, I guess. Hey robot, if you can hear me, the four are running straight into the ruin. We might be out longer than I thought. As for me, I'm gonna stop stalling and sweep the town in case one of them slipped away."

 

"I'll see what I can do." I say.

 

Voidfiller grows wings and takes off with an extreme gust of wind.
Meanwhile from the brick, my voice emerges.
"You're on their tail, though, yes? Or, at least, most of you are?"
