Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"Is she being revived with that immortality protocol or whatever?" I ask.

 

"No, she's not in the system. I'm mostly reaching out to you to ask you to replace the crystals on Xlentia's armor and make bracelets to keep Ruby sane in her shell body."

 

"I thought she was dead though?" I ask.

 

I approach the bodies, inspecting them.
"It's possible that a mantis got in here, but unlikely. I'd rule one of them out, to start things off."

 

"Duh, but it's not like her soul's gone. Also, you need to come by anyways and get Abigail's soul half. Just... mind the parts of the library that will instantly kill you and destroy your soul. Which is most of it right now."

The guards are just unconscious with darts in their necks, and the king is slumped over with a slit throat, chest wound that probably cut into a lung, along with a small slit in his gut.

 

"Why is that?" I ask.

 

"Somebody said something about paint?"
I say, continuing to inspect the style of the darts.
Does the king have a shirt on?

 

"Because I got to play exterminator with a few thousand of those damned things."

 

"Can't you bring Ruby's body outside of the library then? And shouldn't she still have her own heart?" I ask.

 

"Something like that. There's a bit of paint smear on the king's robe."

He does, but it's pretty much just red at this point.

 

"Like..?"
He looks around.

 

I beckon whoever spoke over.
"Show me."

 

"I can't leave without everything shutting down. As for her heart, she doesn't really need one if I force her back into her shell body."

It's just a grassy field as far as you can see.

Sgavrinn shrugs, tapping your forehead with a vine.

Another guard points out a teal paint smear near a cut in the king's robe, being careful not to touch it.

 

"Is there a way for me to have sleeps without dreams?"

 

"Wait, so did she never have one to begin with? And where is her actual self now?" I ask.

 

I remove the king's robe, being very careful not to touch the paint. I then lay it beside me and remove his shirt, ripping it if I have to.

 

"What caused the plagues? Was it the Genesians deviation from their devotion to the winds?"

 

I take a closer look at the bodies.

 

Sgavrinn nods, acting like he's yawning.

They're a bit cut up, width of their lacerations about the same as the daggers of the other demon you just killed.

"No, they were no less devoted than you. As to what caused the plagues... that's beyond me."

His shirt winds up coming off in two pieces, everyone turning away once you remove his shirt.

"She had a robotic one Sapphire made her. However, Sapphire's gone and she has neither, so we either leave her employer in the dark or we give her the same body she had when you first met her."

 

"She won't turn evil again will she?" I ask.
