Generic Fantasy - [5/7]

Thorston: "How am I supposed to know?"
Thorston stays in the shop and keeps watching.

 

Eradius smiles like a psychopath he is.
Eradius: "Have you ever heard about riping souls out of people's body's?"

 

The horse randomly takes off, running straight back towards the town. The barebacked riding feels like it’s utterly destroying your legs.

You can leap roughly 5 feet straight into the air from a standing position. On a long jump, you could clear 10-15 feet.

Man: "I see. I'll get that down... and.. Ok. You're clear to go. Just a note: Be back within a month, we have a lot of customers."

...
Suddenly and randomly, a man comes barreling down the street before falling into a fetal position in the center. The weird thing is that he's surrounded by ridiculous amounts of lightning, ripping into the ground and are around him. Guardsmen surround him, afraid to get too close.

Ice Mage: "That sounds quite a bit on the unholy side of things, if you ask me..."

 

Tborston: "What."
Thorston keeps waiting inside the building.

 

I say to Fayuma
Dez:"He said to be back in a month. So what now?"

 

"You stupid beast! Go the other way!"

I try to keep my balance on the charging horse, but fail, falling off just outside the town limits

 

Eradius: "What's wrong with that? Unholy magic is just another part of magic, even though some people dislike to admit it. I mean, sure there is possibility of you going mad if you use it, but nobody is going to call you mad when your torture them so hard that you can rip their soul out of their body."

 

Not much changes for a bit, with the guard remaining tense, and the man staying st-

A massive lightning bolt discharges from the area around him and smashes into the herbalist's window so hard it shatters it. The bolt streaks past you, causing an explosion near the back of the shop.

Fayuma: "We get in a cart an' run some errands, mainly. How good do ye think ye are with assassinatin' people?"

The horse immediately turns around, heading back towards the forest.

Ice Mage: "This is all extremely unsettling."

 

"Stupid horses. I'm sure they'll all be gone because of their insufferability someday."

I stand up and look around the remains of the town

 

Thorston: "Wha-what?!?"
He dashes out of the shop, still keeping his distance.

 

Dez:"Oh you have no idea, and if we're going by cart can I read a spellbook of invisibility I think that would be helpful"

 

Eradius: "Eh, you get used to it."

 

Well I guess I'll just travel along the river by foot, until I arrive at Kyuuvar.

 

You're standing in a ruined market, by the looks of it. No large buildings and a lot of colorfully burnt tapestry. There's a pile of bodies 20 feet to your left, and deeper within the town you can hear things still on fire.

You find a nice, comfortable alleyway to the side of the shop. The crazy mage guy stands up, blasting several guardsmen with lightning, and, by the looks of it, frying them inside their armor.

Fayuma: "Good to know."

She turns toward the two mages.

"Hey! Any of ye comin' with us or no?

Ice Mage: "Still it seems like y-
He's interrupted by the bandanna lady yelling at the two of you if you want to go with them or not. Says something about an assassination job.

It's a long, long walk. You trace the river up into the western foothills, only able to be called hills next to the massive mountains to your left. You're walking through a long, decently wide cliff about a dozen feet above the river shore when you notice a cave embedded in the hill to your side. Almost the second you notice it, 5 bandits jump out of it.
Bandits: "Give us your money and you leave here alive!"

 

I take off running.

 

If Fayuma doesn't ask back for the scroll i pocket it and wait for the 2 mages

 

Eradius: "Assasination? Well, I guess I have nothing better to do."

 

"I'm stuck here for awhile, I might as well help these people!"

I begin to set off deeper into the town, to try and rescue the townsfolk

 

I hand them my gold coins. Then I cast Bash to deal hefty dmg and slow them down because they're now clustered.

 

You shoot out of the alleyway and dart down the street.Before you can dissappear from the scene, however, the street is blocked by more soldiers coming to deal with the insane lightning wizard. He's laughing/sobbing now, and you hear another building behind you get blasted with a giant bolt.

Fayuma heads over to the two mages.
"Oh, the rest of ye can just head to the carts. Be ready fer a couple o' rough hours and hills."

Ice Mage: "...Fine."
Bandanna Lady: "Good, good. What are yer names, by the way? Can't be goin' around calling you 'the wizards' constantly, now."
Ice Mage: "Rykeal."
Bandanna Lady: "And ye?"

You head towards the rough area where you hear the most noise. Digging your way through the rubble, you eventually come upon the scene of what is or was clearly a massive battle. There aren't even building foundations left, just a crater lined with corpses. A small number of people, around a dozen, are doing battle at the center, periodically letting loose ridiculously overpowered attacks.

Out of the 5, 3 of them take fatal damage and die immediately. There are two bandits remaining.
