Serious So How Do You All Feel About The Logan Paul Suicide Forest Vlog?

So for anybody that don't know, Logan Paul is in Japan doing some vlogging. He decided to go to the suicide forest, a forest where some goes to kill themself. He, while in there with his mates and cameras on, sees a body. Instead of going away and notifying the Forest guards and turning off his camera (like he has been informed to do), He decides to go up close, film the dead body, say stuff like "leave a like if you feel sad", and he and his mates joked about it and were smiling right afterwards. He even decided to put a picture of him, next to the hanging body in the tumbnail. He has since removed the vid and made a shitty apoligy on his twitter. What do you all think about this?

I know he is not the first YouTuber to explore the place in question but I believe none of them found a body and if they did, did not air it but I could be wrong as I do not look at this sort of thing.

You have to wonder why they believed it would be a wise idea in the first place to share such footage as it would be pretty obvious that backlash would be coming his way. I guess he is more of a 'do it now, think of the consequences later' type of person based on some of the other things they have done and to each their own if it provides a form of comedy to others but this was just wrong and disrespectful in my eyes.

 

Logan Paul is the sorta person to do something for the views.

It's not, i just feel like it's worth highlighting. I mean lets be real. In two moths logan will still be sitting high on his horses and earn good money, and everyone will have forgotten about this who thing or have forgiven him. Bad actions don't come back and bite you as much as they used to. I'm still furios about this, not only because of the way he treated a person who had recently passed away as a tool to get views, but also the way he has presented and disrespected Japan as a whole. The amount of shit he has done over there is disgusting. Other than filming a dead person, he also shouted and screamed while running around the streets, and he was even kicked out of a sacred shrine because of the way he was yelling and acting while there.

 

True, I just feel bad for the family of the deceased man. Sure, they blocked his face, but it wouldn’t take much for the family to put 2 and 2 together.

 

Whats worse is that Youtube allowed this to happen. You see many other content creators obeying the community guide lines but they get their videos flagged, taken-down, demonetized and sometimes even losing their channel, but when Logan Paul breaks the guide lines by putting a dead body in the title, thumbnail and video , he get keeps the video (the only reason its gone is because Logan decided to take it down), and it gets onto the trending page, and for a video to get onto the trending page it requires a Youtube staff member to review it and to later put it on the trending page. So there is little to no involvement on Youtube's side.

I also highly doubt Youtube will do anything to punish Logan, cause as we've seen before, the Paul brothers are their gold mine, they'll keep them despite the fact that they've broken many laws in the past and for one reason only, because they make them money. They're risking their sites reputation to these monkeys just so they can swim in dollar bills, despite massive News outlets (e.g Sky and Fox news) addressing their behaviour.

Another thing I like to point is the laws that they've broken. Its well known Jake has eavesdropped on his neighbors as well as doxing Post Malone, but what Logan did in that video goes against a federal law (18 U.S.C. § 1470- Transfer of obscene material to minor). Basically what this means is that you cannot distributing offensive or disturbing content to minors under the ages of 18. As we've seen from Jake's meet ups and my personal experience, its safe to say that Logan's audience is similar to Jake's which is usually consisting of 6-13 year olds. Reminder, before the video was deleted, there was 6 million views, so it is safe to say that out of these 6 million a good majority are under the ages of 18 and therefore Logan has broken a Federal Law. However I doubt he'll get in trouble, as the Paul brothers have escaped the law before (sort of). If anything, he'll probably receive a slap on the wrist or a fine. This could affect Youtube aswell as they allowed this kind of content to be produced and put onto their trending page, but this is unlikely.

Honestly, I think it's just... I don't really have words, it's just so disrespectful. Right, people like iDubbbz and that are offensive, but that's sort of the point of their channels, and they're not exactly well known for anything other than being memes. However, Logan Paul, whilst not necessarily a serious youtuber in the content he makes, is also pretty family friendly afaik, but Ive never watched one of his videos so idk.

Also, I think the Pope trying to defend him by saying stuff like 'it was a mistake' 'he wasn't thinking' 'it was an accident' are just stupid. Yeah, sure it was a mistake, probably the biggest of his life, but it was no accident. Did he 'accidentally' walk into this forest, 'accidentally' video a DEAD BODY, then 'accidentally' edit, watch and upload a video? I think not.

 

Its even sadder that videos talking about this situation are getting removed because of "mis-leading titles/tags ect." It seems as though YouTube is trying to defend Logan from the backlash. From what I believe is that the video was reported and a staff of YouTube took their time to manually review it, and lets just say he didn't do a good job at reviewing it. It got onto trending without any strike let alone any age restriction. This is honestly quiet bullshit and seems unfair to creators who do follow the community guidelines but end up getting their videos taken down, whilst the Paul Brothers, if they do a video of burning down an orphanage, YouTube, will most likely support them.

 

Do people even like logan paul?

 

Judging by the thread, no.

 

My problem with this is that he's just gonna get away with this scot-free. His fanbase is too young to really understand what he did and will just forgive him easily. And YouTube doesn't seem to actually care and will still let him monetize his videos, including his "apology". In the end all we accomplish is some, admittedly hilarious, memes that won't actually do anything in the long run. How can we be sure he won't do something like this again, but then "apologize" and get away with no consequences again?
