Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

Seems you don't have much of a choice, as you wind up dreaming of, of course, Sgavrinn.

You stole a map, and you still have it.

She turns most of the energy to light magic, filling the library with a blinding light.


Iris glances at where the nobodies were.


"Don't worry about it... we've got other problems."

 

The darkness seems to retaliate in response, growing stronger and consuming the light magic Emerald produces.


They don't seem to be there anymore, though cracks start appearing in the ground, jets of hot fire emerging through them.


"We do?" Aqui asks, worried and exhausted.

 

Bought, stole. Same difference.
I point to a random location on the map and head there.

 

She redoubles the strength of her magic output, going back to omnielemental magic.


Iris (finally) seems concerned.
"Hey, shadow. I think your ex-friend's about to wipe both our realities from existence."


Ihra grabs Aqui and takes off with her in tow.

You point to the middle of a mountain range. Do you really want to take a hike?

 

One of the massive dark creatures creates a dark orb between it's hands, before surrounding Emerald in it, restricting her magic and movement.


"What?" I ask, turning to Iris before a gigantic dark dragon bursts through the ground, masses of lava and dark fire erupting everywhere, knocking everyone back.


Aqui just lets Ihra take her away, the elites following.

 

The orb fizzles out; it seems that the library isn't the place to fight Emerald, especially when the creature finds its magic energies draining.
"I suppose I'm overdue for a pun. Shame it'll go wasted on you freaks..." She mutters.


Xlentia dives through a portal above it, swiping at the dragon.
"No defacing my beauty." She sneers.


Ihra scans the dragon, mostly looking for Abigail's heart.

 

A mass of the dark creatures begins to come together, before overwhelming Emerald, scratching, biting, stabbing and attacking her in any way they can.


The dragon roars, spinning and slicing Xlentia with it's wings, before hitting her hard with it's tail and unleashing a mass of dark fire, both from it's mouth and large pillars from the ground.


Abigail's heart seems to be within the dragon.

 

Their efforts are moot as she starts feeding off the energy they spend trying to hurt her, further amplifying the amount of magic in her assault grows.


It... scratches the paint off parts of her armor as she shoves her neck into a portal in the ground, trying to bite down on the dragon's neck.


Ihra tries reaching out to the heart for any trace of Abigail.

 

Some of the dark creatures begin attacking the barrier, the larger ones doing a lot more damage to it.


The dragon roars, spinning rapidly before diving into the ground, erupting below Xlentia and spinning, it's razor wings and tail making it like a massive, deadly sawblade.


All Ihra can find is that it's definitely Abigail's heart.

 

The barrier just feeds right back into Emerald's feedback loop, the raw amount of magic almost enough to start utterly vaporising any trace of the creatures.


As it rises, modified light pulse rifles riddle the dragon with dozens of shots, Xlentia swinging her tail up towards the ceiling to disorient the dragon.


Ihra's eyes tear up as she tries of think of a course of action, but can't.

 

The creatures are killed quite quickly, though it will still take a while to kill them all.


The dragon is thrown to the ground, roaring and spinning, releasing powerful dark fire in every direction.


Artemis runs over to Ihra, wounded and weak, but still able to stand. Noticing Ihra's tears, Artemis just hugs Ihra.

 

"Ah, I am glad to see you are well. By chance, may I enter your domain?"

I nervously shift around, waiting for the response

 

I just keep making my way towards the respite, eventually dropping my hand to my side.

 

"Hmm.. wolf is gonna be angry."
He looks around for Sgavrinn.

 

I'll roll a second time.

 

Ren finds himself falling down at a great speed towards the crater floor.

 

Emerald just keeps spreading the killzone, not stopping until even the larger creatures simply disintegrate.


Gaia once again shields the group with her body, Xlentia unaffected by the darkfire as she stomps on its back full force.


Ihra heals Artemis slightly, mostly confused.

You... point to an island in the middle of a large lake.
Might actually be a good place to set up a home base of sorts.

Behind you.
He nuzzles you, happy as usual.

She smiles, though with the fangs sticking out of her mouth, it's more intimidating than comforting.
"You're here now, aren't you? Come, I wasn't expecting visitors today..."

He spreads his wings and glides down to the bottom, seeing if anything else fell to the bottom of the crater.

No humans are outside, though the castle doors are wide open.

 

The creatures band together their magic to create a large shield, blocking Emerald's attacks, though those not behind the shield are eradicated.


The dragon roars, pinned to the ground and wounded, throwing fireballs everywhere in an attempt to hit something before I make a mighty leap upward, bringing Shadow Katana down on the dragon's neck as I fall. I cleave the dragon's head off, and the dragon explodes, dark clumps flying everywhere before quickly disintegrating. Abigail's heart flies from where the dragon once was, darkness disintegrating around it. The heart rises upward gently before teleporting away.


Artemis seems exhausted, staying by Ihra.

 

I make my way into the castle, looking around.

 

"Hey there, buddy. It has been a while, how are you?"
