Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

I start making my way towards the respite, this time walking.
As I walk, I seem to hold my finger to the base of my ear.

 

He walks towards the stalagmite Lucy was sleeping on and lays down.

 

The dragon tries biting Emerald, attempting to crush her between it's jaws.


Everyone else remains frozen inside the ice, unable to move, except for me.

I slide through the ice, Shadow Katana's physical form making it unusable within. Noticing Iris' bubble of liquid, I slide over to it.


Aqui keeps the ice cold, making sure it stays frozen.

 

A few mantis give you strange glances, but nobody questions you over it.

It's not too far from the wyvern and Anne, but it's just about far enough. If you buried your face in your backpack, it might help drown out just enough sound.

That seems to be a one-way ticket to being filled with a brutal pulse of magic that even goes to slightly distort the reality around it.


Iris glances at you, looking a bit concerned as her eyes glow, clearly still focused on the nobody.


She could probably drop it to absolute zero if she wanted, though that might cause problems for her friends, seeing as this is enough to pacify her foes.

 

The dragon roars, a dark portal surrounding it as it disappears through it, retreating.


"What's your deal?" I ask.

The nobody seems to escape out of sight though the ice after a moment of being frozen.


Aqui just makes sure the ice doesn't melt.

 

Emerald sends out a flood of overcharged omnielemental magic after it, furious.


"Do I need one?"

Iris tries to trace it.


The ice is still frozen solid, but one of the nobodies seems to still be able to move.

 

Bardock throws down his backpack and plants his face in it.
A muffled "Good night." comes out.

 

The portal seems to warp the magic, making it ineffective before it closes.


"Well first you seem to be attacking us like you're on the Hive Master's side, and now you're helping us!?" I ask.

The Nobody seems to be heading deep into the ground.


Aqui tries closing the gaps between the other trapped Nobodies, before realising they've escaped.

 

Emerald checks to see if it made off with Abigail's heart.


"I'm not helping you, I'm cooperating long enough to get what I want. That didn't work, so now I'm stuck here debating whether or not to try and strike one of you down or let you off because your ex-friend was an asshole and tried to mess with our stuff as well as yours." She retorts. "Don't think I don't have enough left in the tank to wipe the floor with you and your girlfriend right now, if I wanted to."

It gets pulled into Oblivion.


Maybe dropping everything to absolute zero would have been a good idea?

Don't need to talk, I can read your thoughts since I'm in your head.

Pause.

...It'd probably help if I shut up so you could sleep, huh.

 

It's still a remarkable sight to see no matter how many times Ren has been there. The sound of work and activity resounds throughout the docks. Nearby, Ren witnesses an airship nearly collide with another one, followed by lots of angry shouting from both ships.

 

Abigail's heart seems to have been the main power of the dragon.


All of the ice begins to crack, before shattering completely, dropping everyone.

Three of the figures in dark cloaks appear a short distance away from the group, one of them clapping, though all of their faces are unable to be seen.


Aqui is hit with a massive blast of energy, before having her power sapped away.

 

"Can you actually sleep yourself, while you're not physically here?"

 

Emerald tries to recall the heart back to her, straight up ripping a hole in both realities to get at the dragon again.


Iris floats down, glancing at you again.
"These freaks are from your domain. You ought to know how to handle 'em. What's it take to put 'em out of commission for eternity?"


It returns to Gaia, who gets up surprisingly fast.

Nope. That's why I said that I'm not insane yet. I'll get there, though.

Ren smirks before running off towards an empty airship dock and diving down into the crater below.

 

"And you don't sleep when I sleep?"

 

I'll head out as well.

 

In attempting to reach Abigail's heart, Emerald allows masses of darkness to flow through the hole, thousands upon thousands of the dark, yellow-eyed creatures emerging from it, as well as a few massive ones.


"I've honestly not seen these guys until recently." I say.

"You've done well, I always knew that girl was dead weight, useless to us," The dark cloaked figure that was clapping says, "We've no need for this conflict. Your Nobodies would be weak, and fragile, and we already have a supply of hearts, yours will be of little use to us."

"That girl's heartless is your problem now though." One of the other dark cloaked figures says, before disappearing with the first. The third dark cloaked figure simply clicks his fingers before disappearing, sending out a massive blast of powerful nullmagic, destroying the barriers and letting the darkness Emerald opened flow out of the library, thousands of the dark creatures running to attack the group.


Aqui seems a little dazed from the attack.

 

The nullmagic seems to be nothing new to Emerald, the barrier strengthening as a result of the blast, though they don't cover the doorway itself, just the doors...
The tear is soon mended, Emerald using that energy to rip any nearby heartless to shreds.


Iris stomps, axe glowing.
"If she's that useless, give me her heart. You might be done with her, but that doesn't speak for the rest of us."


Ihra helps her sit up.

Heading towards the village would likely be a mistake, so perhaps you should head off in yet another direction.

You'd think you would have every corner of this world memorized by now...

I only get sleep when you sleep in beast form and when you sleep so hard you can't dream.

 

"I'll try not to dream then."
He sleeps, deep.

 

I did buy a map, didn't I?

 

The heartless appear to be much stronger. It takes a while for Emerald to even kill one without it coming back from the darkness.


There's no response, though the ground starts to shake.


"W-What happened?" Aqui asks.
