i mean ofc dps isnt going to translate 100% into real damage as is.
let's take Qira, for example. according to the wiki, she has 400 000 health. so with 7482 dps, it should take exactly 53.4 seconds to kill. but wait, she regenerates. also this assumes you spend those 53.4 seconds constantly shooting her and not missing a single shot, and that's just not very plausible on any build at all
wynndata's dps is just very useful in comparing builds

 

How is it misleading though? Melee builds usually are represented by their DPS, unlike the spell builds that are represented by damage per one spell cast.

if you cant get 4 hits per second you probably have carpal tunnel or something

 

hell it has better damage per hit than basically most melee builds

and my alka build used 40k dps

 

lag usually stops u from shooting a few seconds then unleashes a barrage of arrows

 

I dont know anymore I guess you all have never seen someone say damage per hit before and everything is dps but I always see damage per hit so when you say 7k dps it makes me think you have 7k per hit

 

then that is your problem, not mine.

 

but if you only show a build's damage per hit it's even more misleading than dps in terms of how much damage it actually puts out

ok so let's say a stinger build can shoot an 8k arrow thats pretty mad if you only think about that
then you factor in that you can only shoot one every 2 seconds instead of a bit over 4 each second, it brings you back to reality and it doesnt seem as cool anymore

depends on the build it's used in but with only stinger equipped, its raw damage being 1600-2000 at Super slow, which has a dps multiplier of 0.51 according to motoki1's sciences, means that a clean stinger with nothing equipped has an average dps of 918

average of 1600-2000 being 1800
the dps multiplier of Super slow attack speed is 0.51
so 1800*0.51=918

 

so is it easyier to understand 900dps or 1800melees

 

900dps means it takes around 10 seconds to deal 9000 damage.
1800 melee means it takes anywhere between 1.1-9.8 seconds to deal 9000 damage due to unknown attack speed.

edit: you can also use courage/curse(pretty much will always be active if you constantly melee) to boost your poison

 

ok i took the Paintaker and fit a slayer in it and damn this is pretty good

havent used Cancer lately, hopefully they'll lower the dex req since it's not longer that abusable
next build is gonna be the Rainspeller btw to test the limits of spellcasting on rainmaker

 

ok solo'd qira with this one and 1 hp pot, probably the most viable out of the slayer-less versions
