"She was stressed out and was trying to make a joke. She wasn't serious. She'd never harm Ihra." Artemis says.

 

“It’d probably take the whole day for me to tell you all of it. I’m not trying to hide anything, I’m just trying to simplify things to an understandable point.”

 

"You better. Otherwise we'll be in a lot of trouble."
He slowly starts to transform.

 

Ali shakes her head.
"I still don't trust her. Nobody makes a joke like that, not even the Hive Master."

Your skin turns to fur.

"Then give Fuela the details, if you think I'm too dumb for them."

 

"I know you don't, but still."
He transforms until he has completely turned.

 

“I don’t. So I’ll give you the details instead. The portal that I come out of leads to a place called the Void Palace. There resides an army of draconians, as well as many other creatures. They serve a goddess named Xlentia, the large dragon you were talking about earlier. Alongside her and Gaia, the goddess of life, we hope to take down the aforementioned Hive Master, a being that has several legions worth of mind controlled draconians and a few gods on his side. I’m hoping for you and your people to help us in our plan, for fear of the Hive Master defeating us, and thus gaining access to nearly whatever worlds he wants.”
Pause.
“Does it still feel like I’m hiding something?”

He pauses before shaking his head.
"...My apologies. However, I will agree under one condition - you don't send my people to fight. If they choose to, fine, but I'm not agreeing to send them into a royal shitshow."

 

"That's just sort of how Shadows are." Artemis shrugs.

 

"Then I can't work with them."

 

"Jeez. It's warmer then I thought it would be."

 

Artemis sighs, seeming a little depressed.

"Well, I'm in love with one of them, and he seems fine to me." Artemis says.

 

“I’m not drafting your people, Akli’il, I’m asking them for help. You approach this situation how you want to.”

 

Werewolves used to live in the mountains for a reason. The fur has a purpose.

He's about to retort, then nods.
"I'll think about it."

"Again, I could work for Aj. My problem is with the queen."

 

“Thanks.”
I nod.
“If it matters, I’ve informed Aral’hrah as well.”

 

"What'd he say about it?"

 

“Same as you. He’d think about it.”

 

"I'm going to guess you're going to the Matriarch next?"

 

I nod.
