Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

I head towards it, taking my time to look around.

 

"Alright, you got me." Shadow Stephanie says, walking toward the police officers with her hands up.

"No sudden movements, or we'll blast you with light." One of the policemen says, walking towards Shadow Stephanie.

Shadow Stephanie suddenly runs into the policeman, disappearing with a laugh as the policeman is knocked over.

"James, are you alright?" One of the policewomen asks, running over to the policeman Shadow Stephanie knocked down.

"Y-Yeah, I think she just dazed me and got away. Let's just arrest this guy, he looks like he's covered in illegal goods, and I'm not feeling so great..." James says, getting up and taking his cuffs out.

"I can do this for you if you want-" The policewoman says.

"No, Rachel, I can do this." James says, walking toward Sivius.

Sivius notices James wink at him with an eye that turns red as he approaches.

 

The forest doesn't seem to be deterioriting any more than it has, and there seems to be some mud-dirt huts to keep the locals out of the wind.

Sivius slowly draws his rapier fully.

"I wouldn't be so sure. What do you call illegal?"

 

"Sir, put your weapons on the ground, or we will use force." James says.

"Work with us and we'll all come out of this happy." One of the policemen says.

 

I keep walking along.

 

"What, you mean this kind of force?" Sivius asks, raising a hand and telekinetically forcing the officers to put their hands up.

You wind up narrowly avoiding being a barrier to two raptors chasing each other around, a few mantis glancing at you as they pass by at a casual pace.

 

I smile and nod at the mantises, being more careful of raptors.

 

"W-What the hell!?" One of the officers exclaims.

"James! Taze him!" Rachel shouts.

"A-Agh, my head..." James complains, clutching his head.

 

Sivius smiles.
"Did you really think you'd be able to stop me with your flashlights and pea-shooters?"
He tries to force Rachel to walk closer to him.

Another raptor is preening itself, and a few more are wrestling. The pair that ran by earlier seem to be about to cross your path again.

 

I keep out for them, ready to avoid.

 

Rachel tries to resist, but can't.

"J-James!" Rachel says, scared.

"R-Rachel, I..." James says, stumbling towards Rachel, "Agh...my head feels worse..."

"What is it James?" Rachel asks, still scared.

"I-I've...I've always lov-" James says, before his head explodes, blood, skull shards and brains flying everywhere as Shadow Stephanie emerges from his open neck.

Rachel screams, before Shadow Stephanie slashes her neck, blood spewing from it like a fountain as her screams are masked with choking.

"Ahaha, you're nothing but prey." Shadow Stephanie says, watching the life drain from Rachel's eyes before ripping her head off, her spine coming with it.

Most of the police officers scream out of sheer terror.

"I'm sorry officers, but your night shift ends here." Shadow Stephanie says, possessing one of the officers before ripping them in half from the inside.

 

Sivius sends shadow clones to pierce every officer's lung once before stepping out of the alleyway.

They barely dart by behind you, this time.
You're close enough that they'd have to get soaked in the moat before they cut you off again.

 

I stop, watching the wrestlers to see if I recognize them.

 

The officers choke, coughing up blood before Shadow Stephanie gets to them, simply tearing some officers up while completely consuming others, occasionally spitting the skulls at the other officers.

 

Sivius glances around for any witnesses or reinforcements.

One of them you don't, but the other one is Gau.

 

I chuckle, flying up into the air, checking on the area of the respite.

 

Ever so slightly larger. It covers the moat, which seems to have fixed the distorted-looking water.

 

Nobody seems to have come, presumably too scared of the police crime scene, Shadow Stephanie or both.

After Shadow Stephanie kills and consumes everyone, she breaks into one of the police cars, ripping out the voicebox of one of the leftover bodies of a policeover and absorbing it into her. Shadow Stephanie grabs the radio and imitates the voice of the dead officer.

"Everything's good here, we killed the Shadow. She won't be troubling anyone else." Shadow Stephanie says, before taking the voicebox out of her.

"Woo, that was fun!" Shadow Stephanie says, pumped up.

 

I fly around, trying to find the farm.

 

"Worse than I wanted, but I suppose it'll do. Consider cleaning up the mess you made, though... it's still the holiday season."

It's somewhat near the edge of the respite, taking up one half of the 'bubble' while the kingdom takes up the other.
