Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"Aaaah!"
He continues crying.

 

Anne jumps up on your shoulder and nuzzles your neck, her warm paws slightly comforting.
"Hey, hey, you'll make it... You've still got a family."
"She won't get the best of you any more... I promise." Rema says, though she seems on the verge of crying herself.

The blue wyvern walks over, confused.
"Is... now a bad time to ask what's going on?"

 

“...I can see who I can get. I only really have good relations with those in Maralune, and their numbers aren’t exactly large. I could tell Voidfiller, but I’d be surprised if he actually works with any real people.”

 

"You've also got four other worlds to look through... And Gaia's, at that."

 

"..yes, it is.." He gives a short chuckle but is still crying.

 

The wyvern just steps off to the side.

Rema keeps quiet, Anne laying on your shoulders.

 

“True, but it’s not like it’d be easy to convince people to join your army for little-to-no immediate apparent reason. And, hasn’t Gaia probably already talked to those in her world?”

 

"I'm sorry. I'm so, so sorry."

 

"Fair enough. Still, I'll leave your affairs to you. Try not to make your efforts backfire."

"We're still around, right?"
"I didn't know she could be so cruel..." Rema sighs. "Why...?"

 

“That’s the hope.”
I start walking off.
“See you around.”

 

She waves, going back to her books.

Ytir seems to be running around the library. May as well start with a raptor that's already here.

 

I approach him.
“Hey. How’s it going?”

 

"Huh? Oh, it's going okay. I'm trying to find a way to get a book off the second shelf." He says, still looking around.

 

“There should be ladders around here somewhere...”
I look around, then turn to the shelf.
“But I could help you. Which one?”

 

"The shelf's over here..." He says before darting off and stopping in front of a book on trees and shrubs.
He's half the size of the first shelf, no wonder he can't reach the second.

 

I take out the book.
“This one?”

 

"What do you mean?"

 

"Yeah, I think so. Is it one of the ones with a bunch of pictures, or the black scribble marks?"

Anne and Rema glance at each other.
"...Which one of us?"

 

“Letters and numbers, for future reference.”
I say, opening the book and flipping through it to see.

 

"I still don't understand. What do you mean 'why?'."
