He sighs.
"Go get a medic." One runs off towards the village.
"Aradius, perhaps you need to detox for a week. You're scaring everyone."

 

"I'm just a bit irritated. I'm sorry."

 

"But didn't we save a bunch of people?" I ask.

 

"Perhaps. You go see Solis, I will go after him later."

I leave the camp to find a place to meditate

 

Anne sighs.
"I guess we already argue like a married couple."

"You probably did... except you didn't actually evacuate any of Gaia's temple followers. Crystal, Thirteen, and Voidfiller tied things up before the draconians were done looting the place."

The messenger rolls his eyes.

Nemmek seems to have gone off to a smaller side clearing. This might work for your purposes... for temporary meditation, at least. It's a bit close to the main path, but you're not sure how far you'll have to stray to find a better place.

 

"I'm pretty certain I wasn't around for that." I say.

 

"So... then no, you really didn't save anyone other than Gaia."

 

"Gaia was the important one though." I say.

 

"That's where he keeps getting you." Emerald says, shaking a claw at you. "You got the big one... if Thirteen and the others didn't also sweep up a few of the crumbs, it would've been a lot worse."
Pause.
"Of course, it would've been a lot worse if you stayed dead, but you didn't."

 

"So what you're saying is to not get the big one and just get a little one?" I ask.

 

"No, I'm saying that you should look to grab up some little ones while you recover. Then, when you're ready and able to get a big one, you can also have your allies sweep up more little ones. Leave less for the Hive Master."

 

"So...send out teams to gather as many of Gaia's fallen as possible?" I ask.

 

Emerald sighs.
"Okay... I'm going to hope that Artemis is understanding more of this than you. Again. I think you need to just go rest..."

 

"I wanted to but then you started lecturing me." I say, opening a portal to the Realm of Shadows. Artemis takes my hand and leads me through.

 

Emerald smiles.
"Glad you're back. I'll try to get things into your head once you've spent more than just the last few hours in the land of the living."

 

The portal closes, Artemis waving before it disappears.

 

He laughs.
He looks at the wyvern.
"How long till Rema is here?"

 

Emerald waves back.


Sivius scans for Shadow Stephanie's soul.

"She said she's finishing up a spell and then she'd be back. I'd say... two minutes, by now."

 

"Good."
He crosses his arms and waits.

 

Two minutes later, Rema shows up through a portal on the shoreline.
"Sorry I took so long, Bardock. What do you need?"
