SPOILER Time Valley Miniboss

So I was wandering around Time Valley trying to figure out how to do the Discovery there and I came accross this.


There's a sort of miniboss that spawns there, a Temporal Rift. (I got curious because I got a Wither Health bar show up) It has 3 stages. Temporal Rift and two stages of Temporal Horror. The Temporal Rift has an ability to drag you towards it and then hit you.




It drops some Light Aura and Dark Aura as well as a chestplate.


To find it, all you need to do is go to the Abandoned Farm, and near there would be a cave with Dark cultists. Just go up the cave and you'll end up on a ledge with the Temporal Rift.

You misread the name. It's the Temporal Rift, then two forms of the Temporal Horror.

 

What does temporal mean? Is it like in temporarily?

 

It's a word used that relates to time or alternatively something otherworldly according to Google

 

Good job on finding it. I think the chestplate is new, I didn't get it on beta.

 

Cave with dark cultists?

The whole temporal rift / horror thing is obviously a Door of Time thing, but why Dark cultists? Dark has very specific meanings in Wynn...

Actually, I was just thinking about it's drops. Light and Dark aura. We know when Light and Dark clash, it makes Corruption. Maybe Time is like, a good or perfect unity of Light and Dark, while Corruption is a bad or violent unity of the two.

 

You can trade in a Dark Aura as well as Pigman's Skin at the Mask Shop in the Ravine Village to get a Black Mask too. It's a really good helmet for level 18+ and makes you look like you're wearing a Wither Skeleton Skull.

I've found Dark Cultists in another cave (can't remember where), albeit without Temporal Rifts and Horrors. Maybe these cultists have a widespread presence throughout Wynn?

Going on your theory of Time with Light/Darkness, isn't there an item that describes the perfect mixing of Light and Darkness to create Twilight?

Yes! Oh my god I can't remember the name... But yeah. Twilight is the time right as Day and Night switch, right? Like at Dusk or whatever? Both Light and Dark, but also a Time of day. Time.

Possibly, but I kind of doubt it. The air element already seems to have a connection with time from what I know, with Rewind and Weathered both talking about time magic

Look at the elements used for each big force.

Corruption stuff is mainly fire and earth, dark stuff is mainly thunder, and light stuff is mainly air and water or air and earth, I forget which

Air being connected to time is fine, as that's part of the typical light elements, and we are talking about light + dark.

I think Light is Air and Water. If you look at Bridge of the Divide, a supposed mix of both, it increases your water defense but lowers your damage, the inverse with Thunder which is probably Dark.

 

I thought corruption was mainly fire and thunder. The dagger Black and the Nether's Scar boots are both said to be crafted from materials surrounding the Nether Portal, and are both fire/thunder.

But if you want to argue fire/thunder, then think about it once again of the light/dark clash. The fire comes from the fact that it's the nether, and the thunder comes from the fact that it's ain imperfect clash, with darkness seeming to overpower light (if you start saying thunder =/= darkness I will find a way to virtually slap you)

 

If I said that thunder =/= darkness I would slap myself too.

Yeah, I mean I see how earth could be applied to corruption. The ground (earth) itself is being transformed into something corrupt, but it's still technically ground. It's still earth, but it's tainted/evil.

I think there's something about a lot of the Corrupted mobs having Earth defense or something, I'm not sure. I think that's where the Earth thing comes from. Even if that's wrong, in this case it doesn't make too big of a difference.
