How is one supposed to use the new Lunar spine? Won't the -mr cancel out the ms? And how can you cast spells with super slow?

 

In crowd control the ms will definitely win especially due to mr only kicking in every 4 sec( meaning you have a 2 to 3 sec window for casting spells) as for spell casting... you got to click super slow ;(

As the mana steal has a 50% chance of activating per mob, in crowds it SHOULD cancel out the -mr

to be fair, beforehand items like requiem and Morrowind already filled it's niche, so it does make sense to give it a new one

I was told Lunar Spine was a very unpopular weapon, considered to be weaker and less useful than Ethereal, which makes sense given it used to be pretty much an Ethereal with the elemental affinity reversed. It had no identity and I was told very few people seriously used it, so it got a makeover. Now, it's a complete risk/reward thing; extremely awkward to play but extremely rewarding if you can manage it.

The mana will bottom out every four seconds, no question. You cannot get high enough mana regen to counter it, it's hopeless on that front, holding it gives you a significant health drain, and while swinging it will restore your mana to full, it also harms you a touch. However, your attacks are crushingly powerful, both melee and spell, and Water Damage(of which it has 33%) is intended to augment the power of your Heal...which means you have to make constant decisions while using it as to whether you want to heal off the chip damage you're taking, or thrash them with a Meteor and risk taking even more damage in the meanwhile.

Yep, this one also got Lunar Spine'd, though not -quite- as drastic.

 

I love it. It now fits with the lore as well, which is nice.

 

In addition, I made a small mistake; Ignis' requirement was increased to 95, but I didn't intend to do this. I can't remember why I did this, but next patch will bring it back down to 80.

Btw, have you concidered nerfing capricorn? It now has 3/4 mr and manasteal, and memento, the secend best thing, 3/4 mr and high -ls. (Pre-rounding fix and update capri had 2/4 mf and ms and memento 4/4 mr.)

 

Memento's mana regen didn't get nerfed.

Still, capricorn is far superior to memento.

 

Memento has good spell %, more raw spell, more mana regen and more hp iirc. Capri has skillpoints, mana steal, no -life steal and walk speed to make up for that. Both are viable, it depends on your build what suits you best. I used Memento in my water-thunder Lament build, now I use capri in my air-water Lunar Spine build.

 

Not really. Capricorn requires 130 skill points to Memento's 80. It's dmg is pretty much the same. Mana Steal and Lifesteal aren't too important as it is a spell build. The ws is nice, but more of an added bonus really. Memento has more hp and has easier to counter element defenses, making it tanker as well. That said Capri also has bonus skill points.

In general Capri suits Water-Air better, but Memento is better in fields like Fire-Water. It's like Boreal-Patterned Aegis vs. Anima-Infused Helmet really.
