Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"Uh, nothing thanks." Vexa says, glancing back at the Shadows in the library.

 

"And how many children did you have?!"

 

They're pretty absorbed in their books.
"Don't worry, they won't be able to hurt you."

One of the doors creaks open, Xlentia poking her head in.
"Hey, Emerald?"
"Yes, Mistress?"
"Where's the mortal that I have the coin to?"
"He's healing."
"Oh... okay. Let me know when he recovers, will you?"
"Yes, Mistress."
Xlentia leaves, and Emerald turns to Vexa again.
"My apologies. Where were we?"

"Thousands. Tens of thousands."

 

"Uhhhh..." Vexa says, still looking at the door in shock.

 

"That is the goddess Xlentia. Some call her the Great Destroyer, as she holds the power to wipe entire galaxies out of existence. She can even remove all traces of memories of her foes. However, she wouldn't harm an innocent soul."

 

Vexa just goes silent.

 

Emerald glances at Vexa.
"Do you need medical attention?"

 

"And how long ago was that?"

 

"I...don't...really know." Vexa says.

 

"Are the sights you're seeing a bit hard to believe?"

"The massacre was fifty years ago."

 

"I honestly think I fell asleep at the forge again." Vexa says.

 

"You are not dreaming. Such is the nature of the reality yours has coincidentally connected to."

 

"So that's how it is. The people you attacked weren't even the people who killed your children!"

 

"That was intentional. They took my children, and I took theirs."

 

"You're the worst, hear me? The worst! You're nothing better then those people from 50 years ago!"

 

She nods.
"I was blinded by rage. So, you may as well let your fury out."

 

"And what do you mean by that?"
He crosses his arms.

 

"Oh." Vexa says.

Vexa faints.

 

"Don't attack me. You have people who love you, a family. You may be angry, but you still... have."

She wakes up shortly after back at the smithy.
"Well... I can't say I'm surprised you passed out."

 

"Sgavrinn, this one has refuted the winds. Let him die as all Phykrans shall; in the sky."

I push the prisoner towards Sgavrinn
