Where else could they go? The villages are burned, the river's fairly full of ash, and the only safe places are the ruins of either nation... or to press towards the mainland and risk being attacked.

 

"No, though I've made quite a few more sales. A group of people in black cloaks came in and bought out quite a lot of the shop." Vexa says, smiling.

 

Ruby goes wide-eyed.
"They didn't buy anything I made, did they?" She asks hastily, getting up in Vexa's face.

 

"That's the only think that I could think of.. let's hope they are with Mark."
He continues onward into the forest, covering his mouth with his shirt.

 

"Is that a problem?" Vexa asks, taking a step back, "They paid more than what I was selling it for. They seemed really interested in it."

 

You can see the charred ruins of a few centaur huts along with many burnt trees, not even a leaf in sight.

I wonder if the ziz knows the damage she's caused...

Ruby takes a step forward, putting her claws on Vexa's shoulders
"You just sold a relic weapon to people who are looking to kill everyone I know."

 

"Not your relic weapons. Those aren't for sale." Vexa says, removing Ruby's claws from her shoulders.

 

She steps back, letting out a sigh of relief.
"You just about made me ready to off myself." She mumbles.

 

"I highly doubt it. Due to her, Gram might not recover and stay like this forever, she scared away my packed, destroyed this village and probably many others and there must be many other forest creatures that died during the fire..."
He makes a fist.
"And all she said was that she's 'sorry'!"

 

"Please don't, you wouldn't be able to train me then." Vexa says, smiling.

 

What can you do, though? She said she'd wait to talk to you.

"My first suggestion is to get used to high-energy telekinesis. I'm talking working with enough to accidentally kill yourself at any moment."

 

"I don't feel like talking right now. What about you?"

 

"That seems dangerous to the mind." Vexa says.

 

"Well, I don't see any starforges here, so you'll have to substitute a star for about a charge an ingot."

"A charge?" Vexa asks, confused.

 

Ruby pauses.
"...How much do you know about magic?"

 

"We can swap if you want. I'll just transform and you can have a talk with her."

 

I don't care. We don't know where she is, anyways. I was hoping you'd remember or something.

 

"I know about my respective elements and guardian abilities, but I'm no sorceress." Vexa says.

 

"Reach for the sky and she'd come to us, wasn't it?"
