Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"Yeah, I'll make sure Gram is okay and I'll be heading off. Want to join me?"

 

"I'm unwanted at the palace that much, huh?" She grumbles.

"I'm gonna stay here since I'm the best pyromancer."

 

"You're not unwanted at all." Eve says.

 

"Okay."
He goes to Gram.
"How is he doing?"

 

Ruby rolls her eyes.
"Well, I guess I gotta introduce you to my boss, then."

He's still asleep.
"Fairly well. Finally recovering."

 

"Who is your boss?" Eve asks.

 

"Vexa, a blacksmith. I was hoping to get a normal-ish life outside of mass murder."

 

"Oh, that's.. good."
He looks at the forest.
"I need to check on my pack, I'll be back later today."

 

The wyvern nods.
"Stay safe."

It's just about completely razed by the fire.

 

"You could have that life permanently if you comply for a while." Eve says.

 

Ruby sighs.
"I missed when you had a personality. It didn't feel like I was talking at a wall with a speaker." She comments, opening a portal back to Earth.

 

"Thanks for the heads up. Take care."
He carefully enters the forest, watching out for anything that might still be hot to the touch.

 

"I still have a personality, but I have strict orders to follow." Eve says.

 

Ruby ignores her response, heading through.

There's not much, but walking through it is a bit hard since most of the ground is covered in charred wood which crumbles a bit as you step on it.
You also kick up a bit of ash as you walk.

 

Eve doesn't follow.

 

*cough* *cough*
"Gotta keep my mouth closed."
He places his hand on his mouth.

 

Ruby just heads back to the smithy.

Why don't you put your shirt over your mouth?

The further you walk, the less likely it seems your pack stayed in the forest... but where would they go?

 

Vexa appears to be at the front desk, polishing a sword.

 

Ruby glances at her.
"Well, things are worse than I thought." She sighs. "I hope nothing went wrong while I was out? You know, other than irritating you with my on-and-off absence."

 

"Where do ypu think they went? Maybe with Mark, but that seems unlikely?" He thinks.
