"We have been shamed. The winds cast plague upon famine upon drought at us, and our people grow tired of watching ourselves suffer as all others thrive. We are not proud, the winds stripped us of that. In shame we turned to the ground, kneeling for mercy... and mercy it has granted us."

"I'll keep in touch."

"Yeah, I like mountains. Nice views."

The night is quiet, a few of the other demon's entourage glancing at you occasionally.
"Do you, uh... by chance want a few sellswords?"

 

"If we can't find a good bluff, mountains it is then." He smiles.

 

"I love you." Shadow Stephanie says, smiling.

 

"I love you too." He smiles back at her.

"Won't be hard to find a mountain. They're freaking everywhere." She laughs.

 

"Haha, yeah. But not all of them have a nice view."

 

"Turning to the ground is a high treason against the winds themselves. Do you have anything else to say for yourself?"

 

He hesitates.
"...The winds tried to kill us. Would you still bow to a god trying to kill you?"

"Well, we've got a choice from hundreds.We're bound to find one with a nice view."

 

"I know we will, just gonna take some time."

 

Shadow Stephanie heads to her throne, flying up into it instead of changing to her larger form and summoning a stack of papers beside her.

 

Sivius vanishes, Miorah growing from a sprouting flower where he once stood.
"Hey, I want to apologize for being blunt. We're all walking on a fiber wire right now, and I shouldn't have tested yours."

"Yeah. Clothes first, friends second, venue third. Then we'll be ready."

 

"Apology accepted." Shadow Stephanie says.

 

Miorah nods, glancing at the guards.
"I understand it's a bad time, but... would you mind me asking about that Abigail?"

 

"What do you want to know?" Shadow Stephanie asks.

 

"What happened to her?"

 

"She was killed in battle by Ihra's alternate self, Iris I think her name was. When she was taken to the void palace to be healed, Iris attempted to steal her soul and heart to use for her own. Ruby stepped in however, and half of her soul was taken instead and Ruby ended up with half of Abigail's soul and her heart. Mortius, our God of Death had already seen to Abigail when she first died, but due to her dying in another reality, he only managed to take half of her soul before the rest of it was taken by Ruby. Missing her heart, the half of Abigail's soul that Mortius owned was turned into a Nobody when he attempted to revive her to torture her in hell. Aj went to hell to try and get Abigail back, which he did, but when Emerald succumbed to the Hive Master's influence, an orginisation of powerful Nobodies took the opportunity to recruit Abigail. Since then, she's mostly been with them. Abigail's heart and missing soul half is inside Ruby, so we just need to retrieve those and kill her Nobody to make her ready for resurrection again." Shadow Stephanie explains.

 

"So, kill the Nobody and kill Ruby, then problem solved?"

 

"Well, no. I want to keep Ruby alive, after all, she saved Abigail. So, we need to kill Iris first, or at least get Ruby's soul half back from her, and replace Abigail's soul half in Ruby with Ruby's own, and extract Abigail's heart." Shadow Stephanie explains.

 

Miorah nods.
"If it'll help me make things up to you, I've got spores on Iris. If you get the hunting party, I'll get her location."

 

"I'd rather wait until Aj and the Elites are fully healed, I'd rather not waste good soldiers when I have some of the best." Shadow Stephanie says.

 

"No expiration on that offer."
