It makes no sense at all honestly. Here me out.

The player is recruited to be a soldier in Ragni's army, but instead of being a soldier at all, they jump out of the army right out of the start. They aren't even given a uniform to say that they could possibly be in the army.

Also, Detlas' army has a barracks (Where soldiers sleep). Assuming the King of Ragni rules detlas (There is no visible owner of Detlas), then why is it that Ragni's army can't have a barracks to go to? Or is it that they do, and the player didn't merit an invitation?

Anyways, what I'm rambling about is that the player clearly isnt in the military, is treated as if he is, can go willy nilly, and Ragni has no reason to recruit the player, unless it was to utilize him (Which they dont, they just give him a safe passage to Wynn).

The only thing I could think is that the player is a citizen. Now, if he is merely a citizen, why is he told he is in the military by multiple NPC's? I can recall atleast 5 times a quest called my some military folk.

But Im not done. Gavel recently opened it's gates (timeline wise), even though the only ones to come in are "wynn soldiers", who are evidently not soldiers.

Anyways, I'm done ranting. Just had to point out this hole in the lore.

So while the player is a soldier, that alone doesn't mean they have to fulfill the classic image of one.
It might be that, due to the adventurer's abilities, the king assigned them a more "flexible" role. In the end they're still somewhat doing the work of a soldier in the broader sense, trying to help people around the provinces and defending them when necessary.
Though of course there's truth in your words, that's an unlikely scenario - yet one that might be resolved in the future with the addition of a Main Storyline.

The King did give him a more flexible role before he was Wynn's private demigod like Bob was.

At this point the Player is literally Gavel and Wynn's protector, people do call him a soldier, but in reality he's actually just their private demigod

I'm not convinced of this at all. If Ragni controls Detlas, they have control of the capital of Wynn and the main trading post for the whole province. They would also almost certainly control Nemract (no leaders there and it's basically between the two), the only port in the province. We see no military presence from Ragni there, despite control of these two places, which effectively give them complete control of the entire economy. They show no signs of dominance over Troms, however, who have their own monarchy and are located quite close to Ragni. My guess is that Wynn is a decentralised place where each region effectively governs itself. Some have monarchies, like Ragni and Troms, while others have merchant republics (like probably Almuj). I really don't see how the King of Ragni could hold any power beyond say, Maltic or Time Valley. Ragni is actually surprisingly far away from Detlas - further than Rymek, in fact.

While the player is rarely acting as a formal member of the army right now, you're still doing your duty by helping fight the monsters and such across the province, keeping the undead at bay. In the new update, you're going to see a bit more of the army in new quests and such in the early-game, which should help give the army a bit more of an active presence.

Additionally, it's clear in some places that Ragni's sovereignty stretches far beyond its walls. For instance, at the Volcano Islands, there are Ragni flags planted near the Excavation C entrance.

Troms has its own king, ofc ragni doesnt own it. But who is more likely to own Detlas? King of Ragni or King of Troms?

Detlas is not ruled, it is a trader town with Ragni forces covering it. If anybody could control Detlas, it would be bad for the rest of the trade-market in Lore. Detlas is a town governed by others, only to keep it relatively safe.

High lvl players kill and attack citizens for fun, they take it as good prestige if they can kill a human citizen. Is this new news?
    ________________________________
    Sorry for the double post.

If a zombie outbreak began, a whole lotta shiz would go down. The areas would not really need a "ruler," persay, as in to make decisions. Wynn itself has a collective army. Idk if I'm right or not, but I'm gonna ramble a bit.

The Wynnians have a common enemy, corruption. Rulers are usually for handling decisions about the other kingdoms. Be there no corruption, Nemract would definitely have a ruler, and probably a strict one at that, controlling the coast. Almuj, Nesaak, etc would have rulers. But that's not really needed, everyone is helping each other against the common enemy, the Corruption. Fighting each other is not important, banding together and fighting the corruption is.
There are some holes in this theory, "they should still have a leader, no real solid reason they dont," etc. but I think it's worth putting out there.

no, its a literal sense, considering the library literally called him "Wynn's private demigod" and he could seal up the Darkness Beast (eye), thats why the largest protectors of Wynn/Gavel (Bob, the Hero, maybe Siegfried if the theory on him proves to be false) I usually call them the province's private demigods. Because they're so powerful it takes a force that comes outside of the world itself to kill them or defeat them.
