She goes back to comforting Ihra.


Meanwhile...
Ali approaches the gates of the Shadow Palace, though she seems a bit weary.

 

The guards open the gates for Ali.

"You look tired. You're free to rest in the palace if you need to." One of the guards says.

 

"I see. I'm doing fine though."

 

She shakes her head.
"I heard the news about your king. I thought that since shadows drink blood, maybe I'd give him a get-well-soon gift of my own..."
She seems dizzy and almost stumbles over as she reaches into her knapsack.

"One out of many is but a start."

 

"He won't be able to drink it in his current state, unfortunately." The guard says.

 

"I know... he's recovering though, right?"

 

The guard nods.

 

"We can only wait and see what happens."

 

Ali takes a vile of black blood out, though it's only half full.
"Give him my regards when he recovers, please." She says, holding out the vial.

He nods.
"...and hope for the best."

 

The guard takes the vial.

"I shall." The guard says.

 

Ali nods before stumbling off, leaving a few bloody footprints on her way out.

 

"Exactly..."
He nods.

 

He glances back at Rema who is laying down on the shoreline, letting the waves fall around her.

 

He does the same and smiles.
"How much longer do you think the treatment will take? It's removed for the most part."

 

"Are you alright?" The guard calls.

 

Ali doesn't seem to hear, stumbling through a portal.

"Well, he'll be grounded for the rest of his life, vulnerable to poison, and prone to sicknesses... and that's if everything goes well."
Pause.
"So, it'll take until he dies."

 

The guard just stays on duty.

 

Miorah eventually takes out a flute and starts playing a quiet melody, lulling Ihra to sleep.

 

A small crowd of forest guardians gather to listen, though keeping distance from Ihra to not disturb her.

 

The melody is soothing, almost holy. It makes them feel calm and protected as the melody slowly echoes through the palace.
While playing, Miorah shoots the guards a few uneasy glances.
