Anyone Think Minecraft Went Downhill?

i hope I’m not the only one who thinks that Minecraft has gone downhill ever since Windows 10 became the primary version of the game. For one, it isolates ALL Mac users to the point where they have to use the awful Pocket Edition, and it also isn’t even on the level of Java edition (that name hurts).


I think the most insulting part of it is they completely isolated the original version of Minecraft that Notch himself worked on. That probably is the worst business move ever done in history, by buying a company and removing the original work the company did with a knockoff version of it.

 

I think when Minecraft really started going downhill was when they slowed down substantial updates. Large updates come now and then, but they add little to nothing in terms of creating your own experiences. There's not much you can do with a mansion or a polar bear compared to command blocks, note blocks, etc. While the split of PE/Console/Windows may have damaged Minecraft as a whole, I think it's for the best for us Java players to do our own thing. We don't have to pay to get our content and aren't restricted to the other version's limitations.

 

people always said mojang didnt listen to ideas but now i wonder if that was a good thing. people complained that they couldnt go to minecon and mojang listened, and now we have a livestream, which is nothing compared to a full experienced convention. also addons. thats a thing too.
