Erevan: "My notes say something about a 'King Rat'... this could be bad."

Yevor: "Althaios? That owl? I don't know."

Well, I would say horses, but in Yevor's case, "ponies" or "mid-size dogs" would be more appropriate.

 

Two rights and a left come after the spider, toad, or beast.

 

@SPYROHAWK Btw, is there any bric-a-brac near by? It's in my notes but I wrote it in later, so I don't know where it comes. Anyway, if so, I look on top of it.

 

Do you know what bric-a-brac is? It's like junk and random items. So... basically the piles of stuff that make up the "walls".

So yeah, you look up, and...

FINALLY

Up at the top of the walls of the intersection, there are colored ropes connecting the walls. So like, they are spanning the space where the bridge exists, if that makes sense.

At the entrance to the left and forwards passages, way up at the top of the piles, red ropes connect the walls. On the right passage, however, are green ropes. The passage you are coming from has no ropes.

Erevan: "Aha! Look up, everyone. The solution was just above our heads. The correct way is to the right."

 

Yevor facepalms.
Yevor: "That way, then."

 

Erevan: "Yes. Come along, everyone."

 

Alth:"so what are we looking for... magic man? or something else?'

 

I'm assuming you keep doing that at intersections?

That being said, you eventually come to a longer straight part. The path splits into two, but remain near each other. See the map. So it's like wall, 5-10 feet of nothing, 10 feet of path, 10 feet of nothing, 10 feet of path, 5-10 feet of nothing, wall.

On the wall to your right are a manner of weird objects. A sarcophagus made of tree limbs, a mounted white twisting horn, a small witch in a bottle...

On the left wall are a bunch of stacked cages, all rattling and shaking. They are filled with a darkness that not even darkvision can see through

Spoiler: Alas

In the cages are all manner of creatures. Some made of shadows, some weird mutations of otherwise normal creatures, some just complete abominations, and some empty.

 

Erevan: "We mustn't go near the cages whatsoever, if the riddle we received is to be trusted. We can pass by the objects on the right, but we MUST not touch any of them."

 

Oh yeah, and as everywhere else, there's those little offshoots
